Nope. They're not making any stadia internal/original projects but the service itself is still alive (and well? idk...).

I got the Cyberpunk version of this back in November. Turns out it was one of the best ways to play that game. With the recent hardware shortages, this is a great stop gap solution. Stadia won't die before you can finish this game on it (ofc given you actually play it). When/if it does the Chromecast is still a competent streaming device.

All in all I'm very glad I got it and didn't listen to all the naysayers.

People like to shit on Stadia, but if you have a good connection it's pretty good. Playing Cyberpunk on it was a better experience than those who played it on Xbox One or PS4.

Nah they're just going to leave the game making up to people that make games.

I mean, I personally haven't bought into the program cause that worries me as well [killedbygoogle.com] but the reviews of it have been pretty positive I believe.

Wow this came out of nowhere!!... They gotta make similar moves. FF then Dragon Quest, not RE and Judgement later in April makes me think they are gonna expand to Japan very soon.
(I personally cant want for Ark to drop in Apri/May for Pro members)

I got a free Stadia Premiere Edition end of last year with a promo for I think YouTube Premium subscribers (Might have been YouTube TV, but either way, Google gave me a free set). This is not the new Chromecast with GoogleTV, this is the old-school style Chromecast, and it is one of the most painful setup experiences of my life. The controller was not any better. I tried setting it up on a TV in the same room as my router, my router is in the open on top of a cabinet, and my TV is on the wall with nothing between it and the router. I fought that stupid thing for like an hour to get it to connect, and the controller was worse. Literally had to stand with my phone less than 6 inches away from the Chromecast to get things functional.

That said, the Stadia software worked "alright" once the Chromecast and Controller were connected. I didn't purchase any games, just used the ones they gave for free with the one month subscription that comes included to Stadia+. Things seemed responsive. I played around with the tutorial/warm up in PubG to see how it'd do with a shooter and it seemed fine. I meant to play an online game but never remembered I had the thing and my subscription ended. It's not a terrible product, but not amazing enough for me to give up on my PC/consoles for gaming.

Have you tried it? It's been great for me to playing cyberpunk on my TV without having to pay $400+ for a console or even playing on my phone when I'm taking a break at work.

I believe there is a clause in their terms and agreement that Google will keep their Stadia servers up and let you continue playing the games you own even if they decide to kill the service. Can anyone confirm?

I'm loving stadia. I received two free premiere bundles. One for being a youtube premium subscriber back in the fall and got an additional one for preordering Cyberpunk. I don't get time to game and devote hours of time to my PS4 like I used to. But to be able to play on my Pixel, Samsung S7+, or my TV is awesome. I have very little issues running cyberpunk to my tablet even on wifi. I have tons of google products. So setup was a no brainer, just like all their other products. The controller isn't the best quality but honestly once you get used to it, it is no different than picking up a PS4 controller. Only complaint is lack of games. I don't pay for a subscription as those games aren't great. I just buy ones I'm interested in. Also, if you have a data cap it can get annoying, switching to unlimited soon so shouldn't have any more issues. Looks like I might get lucky and get another Stadia Premiere edition. Thanks OP for the heads up.

Not sure on confirming the what ifs on if they kill Stadia. Just reaffirming your defense of Stadia. After trying Stadia, I simply won't go back to regular console gaming. It is awesome to play from phone, tablet, TV, etc... I've sat and played Cyberpunk over my wifi from my tablet with maybe two minor 3 second glitches in a 4 hour time frame. It is just awesome to play while my wife watches something dumb on TV 😂

Pretty nice deal - I didn't know this was coming but glad that people who don't want to spend $1000 on a PS5 right now from scalpers can actually play the new games coming out.
