I have never played a Resident Evil game and am considering getting RE 3 over RE 2. Yes or No? I prefer shorter and less difficult games.
I may be the minority but I actually suggest for you to start RE3 first since you wanted shorter gameplay, simple assisted difficulty and a good story right from the start. ( I played this game first and beat it. I just could not do nightmare nor normal difficulty like most of the SD users here)
By the time you finish the story of RE3, it will leave you wanting for more as you will jump to RE2 and you will enjoy it just as much as RE3, MAYBE more but you ain't gonna set the bar too high if you go from 3 then 2.
Lots of folks loved 2 and had set the same bar for 3 and left very disappointed after finishing 3's. Maybe they're a hardcore fan. Maybe not. Either way I don't really blame them but for someone like you, it may be better to start 3 first. I know this cuz I was in the same exact position you are now; clueless about RE franchise, story and stuff and I went from small to big. Definitely learned alot about the games and don't regret it.
I started Gear of War 4 first, casually best it then now go to Gear of War 1

RE2 is better and neither game is "long", saying one is shorter than the other isn't saying much. Yes RE3 is shorter but what is RE2, 6 hours?
This is tempting but I was holding out in hopes that RE2 or RE3 might make it to game pass. I've played all the others. RE7 was on game pass; I think it still might be.
