Only 4V. Good for nailcutting and woodworking but if you're using cutoff wheels or carbide bits on steel hold out for the 10V/wired versions.
Looks like a decent deal on the 8100 as well.

My wife bought the one marketed for dogs and it's just a more expensive basic dremel with a paw print on it. We tried it out and there just wasn't enough power or speed. Our chihuahua wasn't very comfortable.

I have a corded rotary tool by a different brand, but it starts out at 8000 RPM, like this dremel.
8000 is a lot better because you can gently push the nail onto the rotary tool and there's less vibrations that travel into their toes. The nails grind down a lot faster too. The chihuahua wasn't happy with how loud it was but she started going to sleep when we were doing her nails this time.

I need something to cut vinyl siding and thin metal sheets. Does this do the job or should I get something like this? (I also have other ryobi tools)

This is not what you need. It's too small and underpowered. Look at cut off tools.

It will work but a wired one will be better. It will provide more power

Maybe....if it's a real small dog

Don't get me wrong, I love Dremel and have 3 tools and lots of accessories. I'm just saying go corded. The versatility of the Dremel is amazing, as long as you have enough power.

See, you want to cut off a nail that's sticking out. After you cut it, you'll have to grind it down. If you don't grind it, it will be as sharp as a new nail snagging anything it touches. If you don't have a grinder, you'll want to use the Dremel. Power makes the job a lot easier. (If you did have a grinder, that nail would be long gone)

I do have a 5 lb yorkie. Maybe I should get one of these to do the nails. When I cut his nails, they're super sharp and scratch me. Maybe I can sand them down with this? He hates any vibrating tool though - he's so scared of the hair clippers when I cut his hair - like deathly scared.

Grabbed this one also. Removable battery, variable speed, lower starting RPM and no USB charging. Win, win, win.

Yeah, it's for my dog's nails, but while it's probably a bit of overkill, it's got to be world's better than that ni-cad abomination I've been using.

any dog owners out there that use this and have an opinion on how it compares to the ones on amazon marketed specifically for dog nails? Like this one:

Thank you!
The Furminator grinder that I found on SD a while back died, so I tried 2 different models of dog nail trimmers on Amazon and returned both of them. They were underpowered and seemed flimsy. I ordered the "Dremel 7760-PGK 4V Pet Grooming Cordless Kit"
It has really good power and grinds my dogs nails quickly. It has like 4-5 speeds. I grind her nails on level 2 and that is plenty fast. I used the special attachment for nail trimming a couple times but stopped using that. If you have used a grinder on your dog's nails before, you really don't need that bulky and awkward item on the end of your grinder.
You can get a non-pet Dremel and use that instead!

I'd get another tool. Cutting with a Dremel isn't easy.

I'd be afraid of getting the Dremel wet. But it worked for them.

Picked up the 8100 instead of the one from the OP. Have 2-3 corded ones, but figured why not ?? Thanks!

An oscillating tool will cut it closer.

Actually it could be easier. A oscillating tool would be better like QuestorJones above you pointed out. I'm not saying that a Dremel couldn't do it. Just that I would buy one for that purpose.
