While you can compare MacBook prices vs Windows laptop prices, I don't think that if you're shopping for a laptop that most people are open to either. I think you're either shopping for a Mac or for a Windows PC, depending on preference, familiarity and apps needed.

I know most of my Windows PC clients would not even consider a MacBook because they are familiar with Windows and many of their apps aren't on macOS.
By far the best laptop under 2 lbs
LOL! Web price: $3189.00. Yeah, right...

Looks like a great system, but that display res is pretty odd...I thought 2K was 2560x1440?

Oof this is temmppttiinnggg because my laptop just pooped out on me last week after 10 years of service (RIP). Do wish this was an i7, though. Still tempting.

Any thoughts on this versus the MacBook Air M1 16gb? Have owned a PC but I often run into apps freezing due to high RAM usage.

Edit: guess I answered my own question. M1+16gb ram vs i5+16gm ram...MacBook is the clear winner performance-wise if you're okay with iOS.
This is much lighter at 2lbs vs close to 3lbs and this has 1tb vs 256gb.

You meant macOS instead of iOS. I agree. The MacBook Air is a game changer. If the M1 version wasn't out, this would be an amazing laptop for the price. With the M1 MacBook Air as an option for many people, this isn't quite as intriguing a deal.

I bought this the last time there was a slickdeal and was pretty disappointed. A lot of hardware problems. Search reddit for more details or see my personal review.

Edit I read that there may have been some firmware releases that correct the issues I was experiencing. I am going to give this laptop another shot and rebuy it since I had returned the one I bought earlier plus this is a better deal.

I recognize that but most people using computers at home could be fine with either Windows or macOS. I use both (although mainly Windows and Linux) so I like people to at least be aware of options.

If I was in the market for an ultrabook, I'd absolutely consider this Lenovo.

True comment nonetheless but I've known a few of those people and I want to be like them when I grow up.

Remember everyone to attempt the ID.me discount if you're in one of the qualifying groups. It should stack (at least it did a few days ago). And check your favorite cashback sites.
