VIZIO Elevate 5.1.4 is back on sale across multiple retailers. Best price I have seen this for is $699.99 at Best Buy. I think $799 is also a good buy.

Best price was $600 which only last a couple hours before sold out and they did not price adjust. I got it for $700 before Thanksgiving. The sound quality is good. The last updated app seems to be stable. There are still some minor issues but in general a good deal at $700. For $800-$900, one may consider the JBL Bar 9.1 with AmEx offers at Dell as well.

That $600 price was for Cyber Monday only and lasted only a few hours. I got mine for $699 which was on sale from its introduction until Christmas. Believe me it's the best sounding Dolby Atmos bar on the market. Definitely worth $799 and I don't think it will ever go back to $699 unless open box. In fact what few open box offers I've seen on BB have been over $799.

As I said, the sound quality is good, but it is definitely arguable to call it the best Atmos soundbar in the market. It still has some connectivity issues and has no self-calibration function. Open box at $700 or less is quite common and even available in some area today. $800 is still a good price, but I would opt for JBL Bar 9.1 if it is at the same price.

5.1.4? On a sound bar? Don't fall for the marketing over price on a sound bar people. For $800 you can get a receiver & decent speakers & add on whatever you like. Calibration, a good subwoofer later on, just a thought.

this. i'm all for home-theater-in-a-box solutions, so i understand the appeal of an all-in-one soundbar, but if you have the time and room for it..picked up a used 7.2 receiver for <$250, and "open box excellent" sony core series left and right for <$100, center for <$100, and sub for <$100, two (new) pioneer surround speakers w/ atmos for $130, enough speaker wire for ~$20. ran speaker wires under a rug, and have the rear speakers on side/end tables. works beautifully, and came out to well under $700! though it's only 5.1.2 🤐 so i didn't get the same front pair of atmos speakers, though now i'm thinking about upgrading..

I have seen good reviews, but quirky connectivity scares me though.

After my last Vizio sound bar never again. Quality is just shit. Sound is great when it works. Vizio in general just isn't there quality wise.

I bought open box at Best Buy for $600 about six weeks ago. I sold my AVR and expensive speaker setup. Honestly, I like this better. Movie dialogue is much clearer. Base sounds great. I recommend it.

I do think the speakers pointing towards the ceiling is kinda a gimmick. If you did a blind test, I don't think the average listener would notice. Also I often have issues with the app and commands not being picked up by the soundbar. Still, I think it's worth it.

It's a pretty decent sample size if you go through the recent threads for the v51 and m51, same for their predecessors too. I'm on my 3rd Vizio sound bar in about 6-months.

Atmos is really cool with the right setup. Upfiring speakers and a soundfield calibrated with them work amazingly well! Atmos does some wild individualized positional sound; the more speakers and directionality you can provide to calibrate with, the more crazy the soundfield gets. At least that's been my experience with the setups I've done.

Ceiling-mount downfiring speakers are a nicer option for sure, but a good calibration algorithm will help. The only time I probably wouldn't even bother with upfiring is high or vaulted ceilings.

I bought this when it was $699 and have zero complaints. the sound quality is excellent and atoms makes the viewing experience very immersive. Although I'm sure you could build your own home theater system with a dedicated receiver and speakers etc, there is something nice about the integrated setup that is plug and play without having to run wires etc.

I tried this last year when I was comparing it to a few other 5.1 soundbar setups at the time. I was not impressed for the price point and it was way to bass heavy for me. I actually felt the cheaper Vizio 36512-F6 that I ended up buying for half the price gave a more balanced sound without the gimmicks of the rotating speaker. Main thing I learned with speakers is that more expensive doesn't always mean better sound.
