Yeah they don't sound that good at all. I've had every pair of Buds and the Buds+ are the best bang for your buck.
The Buds Pro just don't sound that much different than the Buds+ but these Live version aren't worth the money. I have urlhasbeenblocked that sound way better and they were $15

They are not placed in your ear correctly
perhaps they can't be.
Live sound much, much better than the plus
I do use my plus more in a regular day as I have the most of them and they are the easiest to get in and out.
The Live need to fit exactly right in your canal.
When I want best audio I put in the Live
When I want waterproof I put in the pro
When I need to take in and out and leave laying around on table or whatnot for a while I use the plus.

I just bought these and the Buds+. While I do find the Buds Live comfortable and sounds is acceptable, the Bluetooth range is really poor (at least on my iPhone 12).

I'd definitely go for the Buds+ if you have the choice.

I've seen/heard people say this, and it seems like some folks just occasionally get a 'bad' pair.

Mine have great range with my Google Pixel 4a, my Samsung Galaxy S7 (my old phone, which I still use for podcasts), and with my iPad Air 2.

Not related to this, but trying to track down a Samsung Guru about a trade in. I did the trade in for a broken screen Note 20 ultra for $550 towards an S21. Samsung says it's rejecting the trade in because I didn't factory reset the phone, but (1) if they are talking about not turning off the "find my phone" type features, I did do that; and (2) if they are talking about just actually factory resetting it, I did do that and have pictures of that. I assume I can bang around endlessly and eventually get some help, but I assume I don't have to reinvent the wheel here either.
They are trying the same thing with me on a watch trade in saying I didn't factory reset it I sent pics and video of it reset waiting to hear back

If this were any color other than red (which I don't like) or white (which I already own), I'd be all over this.

It was the most surreal thing. Called and got tech support, they put me in a queue for "sales" and that guy called me. He asked if I could send him the video of the factory reset and he sent me an email. I send him the email and then he says they will do a one-time accommodation and process the trade in, and I immediately get an email saying that the trade was processed and my card will not be charged.

I am, uh, cautiously optimistic that that is the end of it, but it seems like it is?

Sold mine for $70 on FB marketplace. There wasnt too many inquiries tho.
Do you deal with in person local with cash? For such FB listings..hate eBay with their fees and all. For some stuff like ipad and phone I get scared not knowing the other party..

Bought these last deal to wear under a motorcycle helmet. Have Jabra 65T's but they hurt the ears after time. Took these out over the weekend and they fit well under the helmet and sound decent. The surprise was the noise cancelling was really good against wind noise. Didn't notice how good until I turned it off while riding.
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. I was looking for exact same reason and I too have a Jabra 65t that hurts under helmet!

Why to spend 5 bucks when you can get the work done in $1, head to the dollar store.

I returned the lives. They just didn't fit in my ear and kept falling out
You should have tried the sleeves before sending them back. Sleeves don't come in the box, you have to call them to get it.

Do I need to have headphones for trade in or can I just send the regular wired earphones that you get with almost any phone purchase? I have a few of those sitting there.
I traded in a white wired Samsung earphones that came with S7? It is so old, I don't remember when the free wired earphones switched to black. Samsung accepted them.
