So T-Mobile spent all of that money to buy Layer 3 only to punt after a few months?!
And they just spent a couple mil on a Superbowl ad two months ago.

I'm guessing they thought the TV service would drive up T-mo subs and it didn't pan out.

I've been with YT TV since August 2018 and started at $40 a month, I've only kept it because I'm splitting it with two brothers so it's dirt cheap even after all the price hikes. I like Sling but YT TV has a lot more options like 6 different profiles, unlim DVR etc. We're currently with T-Mobile too so we'll have to cancel YT TV and then re-sign up again through TMo to get the discount?
How many screens are allowed to stream at the same time?

$3.1B in net income for 2020... I guess if you got the cash to squander...

This may get me to drop AT&T TV and move over. The downside is that AT&T TV still has the original grandfathered selection of channels and HBO for $5/mo, but they're also raising the price by another $10/mo next month. That means in under 3 years it's gone from $35 (plus $5 for HBO) to $70 (plus $5 for HBO.)

I'm a current YouTube tv subscriber and I would hate to cancel because I'd lose all my recordings. Hopefully YouTube has a way to keep that stuff
I think if you cancel, they hold your recordings for a while in case you resign up. The question is if this discount is for brand new members, not just members coming back who had it from before.

3 streams at a time which sucks but there's only been a couple times in 2.5 years where we've got a message saying too many streams at once. It's weird they let you have 6 profiles but only 3 streams.

I had YTTV for a couple of years and dumped it. Channels are full of the same junk as the FiOS TV I cut the cord on. Smithsonian could be good but its seems like every 4th channel has Modern Family reruns. Now I only get YTTV a couple months a year - Super Bowl Feb and NCAA football playoffs/bowls n Jan. Nothing worth $65/$55 a month. TV news is all garbage

TVision was short lived.
Sure was, it was destined to fail. The prices weren't that great, channels were similar to other services. It also had zero marketing, no idea why they even tried? Confused

That and I HATE bundles. I'd prefer to have my billing stay through YTTV and have a discount code applied to that service from T-Mobile but that's wishful thinking I imagine. If that's not a choice I'm leaving it as is and will pay $10 more.

EDIT: The story has been updated and indeed I will get a coupon offer and billing will stay though YTTV the first year...yay!

Still too overpriced. OTA + XUMO tv FTW. But only when I miss TV ads being shoved down my throat.

Remember when Youtube TV was $50 a month before they forced an extra $15 charge and channels nobody asked for?

Yep. But to be fair Hulu and Sling did the same thing. They're all going up and up and up. Philo is the one live tv highlight along with Discovery Plus. I'm impressed with both of them and their pricing.
