Phenomenal author of a phenomenal series. Would recommend reading Cryptonomicon before this. Great price. Thanks OP.
Worth it only to not have to lift those tomes.

I'm reading of quality issues on this Kindle book. Any comments from those that have this? It's a great price, but would like to know if possible.

Great price for over 2600 pages of material. Definitely read Cryptonomicon first, a better book IMHO (if only because you can get through it in a month). This series is genius, but perhaps the genius is a little too diluted given its length.

I'm finishing up the system of the world. Phenomenal books especially if you are interested in what money is and how it developed. This is a great deal, as I bought each book for about $3 on sale.

Gotta say, I tried getting through Cryptonomicon and I just couldn't: the author often got into 2-3 pages of textbook-like scientific explanation before moving forward with the story. I think I made it to page 200 or something and the storylines still hadn't intersected. I did like Snow Crash, though.
Are these more like Cryptonomicon with pages and pages of hard scientific text or more like Snow Crash's action-adventure?

While I quite enjoyed this trilogy, I also found it ultimately disappointing. Stephenson relies too much on dei ex machina to move the plot in his preferred direction, rather than building the basis upon which events may seem more natural.

I have since read Reamde, which suffers from the same problem - and have Cryptonomicon sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read.

In short, while Stephenson pays a lot of attention to getting the atmosphere and details right it is immediately obvious that he needs to work on plot development. The books are enjoyable if you can ignore his occasional Hand of God, and at least he does his research - unlike other (Dan Brown) authors.

More of a swashbuckling adventure with cryptography, the development of the Royal Society, and monetary policy built in. I'd recommend Zodiac and the Big U for more Snow Crash reads. His recent longer ones like REAMDE are more Crichton style adventure too.

Snow Crash is one of my favorite books of all time. Cryptonomicon, though long, is incredible. The plot and the way everything ties together at the end in Cryptonomicon is amazing. It takes time, patience, a good memory, and perseverance to finish Cryptonomicon. If you can get through it, it's worth it. I could not get through this Baroque Cycle series even though I have tried several times. Reamde is a class or two below Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon, as are his more recent books. Too bad writers and just about everyone does their best work in their 20s and 30s.
