Probably a grossly underpowered graphics card for that screen.

I am really worried about the longevity due to OLED burn in and Eye strain due to PWM flicker.

So switch to 1080p resolution to play games. A 4k screen doesn't mean you're stuck with one resolution.

You can't play games on any laptop at 4K. 4K gaming all but requires a 3090 or desktop 3080. The way you'd play games on this laptop would be scaling 4:1 in 1080p.

9th generation intel chip.
11th generation would be double the price but 9th is probably adequate for most users?

the value in this laptop is OLED with 100% color gamut. I find Dell makes the most color-accurate monitors (e.g. my lenovo looks crappy in comparison). for those who don't really care about color accuracy or brightness (those who play games in a dark basement), this is probably a meh deal.

Agreed, a outlet 9500 is a better value if you dont need that OLED

This same config except 4K OLED was on sale in December 2019 for under $1000. Even after close to 2 years, still hovering at $1200+.

Does not happen with the modern OLED panels. They are here for at least 3 years now and it has not been reported.

It is not a gaming Laptop in the first place. First, try to understand what is the purpose of a particular laptop. Do you know what are the target audience for these Dell XPS 15 and the new 17 inch series?

Because hardware wise nothing really change in the new XPS lineup, apart from the generation-to-generation Design change. i7-10750H is merely 5% faster than 9750H and in XPS 15, it is even smaller. Similarly GTX 1650 Ti is around 5% to 7% better than the GTX 1650 GDDR5 version and in Productivity tasks, the performance is similar.

I have this laptop with 32G ram and 1TB SSD, and I get around 5-6 hours with heavy multitasking at 4k resolution and brightness around 70-80%
