This is the same size as the trashcan I have in my bathroom, but I will admit it does feel pretty small.

My foot-operated garbage can is just too darn simple. How can I make my garbage can experience more complicated? Maybe I could buy a garbage can that requires AA batteries?

I never understand the point of these battery trash can, for what?? The regular trash can with foot pedal is pretty darn simple to use and not even gonna make your hands dirty. What is the point of these trash can? now you have to worry about changing battery etc

One use case I can immediately think of is where a trash can is wedged between a narrow spot, where having a foot pedal wouldn't work or be inconvenient.

Of course everyone's home is different, but $20 for a stainless steel trash can that happens to be automatic is a pretty good deal. I think I paid at least twice that for a Simplehuman with foot pedal.
