No, 48 is always priced at or higher than the 55 because it's more in demand (monitor tax). I'd watch out for these microcenter refurbished LG tvs though. They go through a 3rd party not LG

The manufacturing process is less efficient with the 48" models. Don't remember the exact reason just that it has to do with how the panels are cut.

For what it's worth, mine came in a generic brown box and didn't say it was refurbished by another company. It seemed like an LG refurb. It just sucks though because mine died like 40 days after I got it as I stated earlier in the thread... so if you do go for it just buy the extended warranty.

I contacted LG to see if they would fix it for me... I'll update the thread if they do. Otherwise, I'll need to bring it back to the store for exchange/store credit.

Nice. Any reason to pick a 48 over a 55 besides the obvious size constraint?

Lotta folk prefer the 48" to use as a pc monitor, think it's the aspect ratio

Agree. LG has a surprisingly good network of authorized repair centers across the US, would suck to not be able to use it.

Definitely buy an extended warranty with these. I bought a 55 refurb on Feb 25th and it died April 2. Now I gotta haul it back to the store because it's luckily within the 90 day warranty period. I had just decided against buying the extended warranty too.

Tempting but going to wait until the price for new dips below $1949.

Use for a monitor. 55" is a tad large when sitting close it. For me, I need to use a desk that is 36-40" deep to comfortably use a 55" monitor.

Nice deals, I wonder where they get refurb units on such new OLEDs though?

RMA units that were repaired by LG?

Any real reason to upgrade from a perfectly fine 65" B7 or C7 to this assuming I don't game?
