No, 48 is always priced at or higher than the 55 because it's more in demand (monitor tax). I'd watch out for these microcenter refurbished LG tvs though. They go through a 3rd party not LG

The manufacturing process is less efficient with the 48" models. Don't remember the exact reason just that it has to do with how the panels are cut.

For what it's worth, mine came in a generic brown box and didn't say it was refurbished by another company. It seemed like an LG refurb. It just sucks though because mine died like 40 days after I got it as I stated earlier in the thread... so if you do go for it just buy the extended warranty.​

I contacted LG to see if they would fix it for me... I'll update the thread if they do. Otherwise, I'll need to bring it back to the store for exchange/store credit.

Microcenter has refurbished 48" (OLED48CXAUB - 2020 model ) and 55" (OLED55CXAUA - 2020 model) LG OLED TVs in stock for $999. You can buy a 2 or 3 year protection plan with them still come out much less than the cost of a new one. If you have a Microcenter credit card, you can knock off another 5%.

Plus tax with the toe deal?

If not that puts them less then $400 apart...brand new versus refurb with a two year warranty

Either way I guess you are paying sales tax on the refurb unit since its in store only

toe deals always is the final price with no tax or tax already included from what I understand. Not sure its worht it for a return/refurb. These were 1699 a few days ago though

I bought this plus the 2 year warranty, which I don't normally do but it was cheap enough.

It came in a retail box but had been repackaged. However, everything was packaged like a new TV, with the exception of the screen protector film which was very haphazardly installed.

The TV looks brand new, and the stand has a couple small scratches on it. I plan to wall-mount, so I'll never use the stand. No big deal.

The panel has 7 hours of use. Picture looks perfect. I'm happy with my purchase and saving $500 compared to the Costco deal, even after the purchase of the extended warranty.

I bought the 65" at the Michigan location. Was way too big for my Subaru, had to get the SUV lol.

It came in the original packaging as expected, packed pretty well, light damage on the styrofoam.

Set it up on my floor and put it on a totally white picture and black picture to pixel peep. No dead or bright pixels and I'm examining it close up. Settings say it only has 260 hours of screen on time.

I think I got lucky! I'll update the post if I find anything, but I'm about to mount this sucker on my wall. Wish me luck!

Is this deal worth it for the 48"? Looking for a smaller tv for my Xbox. ~$1250 for refurb and 2 yr plan compared to around $1400 new. Seems too close a price to gamble on the refurb.

The MSRP are cheaper, but if you have followed the market the 55" has always been the same or lower than the 48" in the last 6 months. MSRP doesn't mean anything, it's what the actual retailers are selling it for, because they wouldn't discount it so hard if they weren't making money on it still.

I bought the 55 from the Brooklyn location to replace a broken 55 OLED from 2015. The refurb I got came in manufacturer packaging, had cosmetic damages on the plastic back of the panel (not important at all) and some plastic deformity near the VESA mounts that didn't affect mounting. It also had burn in that someone used it as a Mac monitor, saw the Dock and top menu bar. Was going to return it, but the panel had only 120 hours on it, and using the Pixel Refresher function cleared up what I thought was burn in when it was just image retention. I ended up keeping it, this is a solid deal if you can manage the expectation that this isn't a brand new panel and can deal with some potential problems.
