Just a heads up for anyone considering buying from VIP Outlet, they are a very shady company.

I purchased a computer from them with some of the advertised components removed. Someone not knowledgeable might have plugged their monitor into the available video port and had no Idea they were running on integrated graphics, while the GPU and some RAM were removed. They put in new expansion slot plates to cover where the GPU output ports were.

So when they advertise that products are fully tested, you can take that to mean that they are recovering/creating as much profit as they can from "refurbished" products. In my case that meant them pulling a valuable GPU from a system (obviously probably for resale), and then disguising that and advertising it and selling it as complete.

A question and a comment. Based on area calculation, 2*24 monitors (16:9) would be equivalent to a 38" 21:9 monitor, correct? Refurbished product warranty on their site shows 90-days. I believe if you use a Visa Signature or MC World card, you can add a year of warranty (at no cost).

I bought this refurbished deal last week and it arrived quickly. I've been using this 34 inch monitor with gaming and working on multiple excel files on the same screen. It makes a huge impact on work and play! No issues with it so far, but I did have to take the brightness up a notch in the settings to about 77/100.

Just ordered one, thanks OP. I'm going to use this for surfing, work, and Youtube. So, no gaming. But, I still want the max refresh rate (RR) for that buttery smoothness.

I'm using a work laptop with typical Intel graphics (UHD 620 to be precise). It has HDMI, and also a USB-C port that I believe will work with Displayport (DP).

A couple of questions:

1. Is RR a function of my machine, the display cable, or both?

2. Would it be better for RR, colors, response time, etc. to use HDMI or USB/DP? I doubt the included DP cable is USB-C to DP, so I would need to get an adapter. So, not sure which route to go or if that's even an adapter worth getting.

3. I absolute hate screen tearing. Anything I can do to stop that, or keep it at a minimum?

I love my monoprice, though this is a great deal. I think MP uses Samsung panels, if that's any consolation.
