I have both sets. Even though allclad has the name recognition and is made in the USA, I have to say the Cuisinart is better. The design of the handle is better (allclad handles are awkard, IMO... the angle is too high and so it's hard on the wrist. I am told it's designed to be carried differently, with palms down versus facing up, but that's just not how I lift my pots and pans), and the thickness of the pans is superior with the Cuisinart (unless you prefer thinner and lighter). The rim of the Cuisinart is also curved, making pouring easier and cleaner than the allclad.) I have a couple of other allclads that were NOT part of this set (and were much more expensive than this set), and those are better - meaning thicker, with curved rims.) When I purchased these sets, I did not know about these details until I purchased and used them regularly, which I do today.

I know this is an industry practice, but it still bugs me to no end that they're allowed to call this "7" pieces.

You're not getting 7 pots and pans. You're getting 4 pots and pans, with 3 lids. It doesn't matter that those pots can be sold without the lids. The lids are designed for those pots and those pots alone, so it's not like you can swap one around for the other. As a bargain-bin AllClad collector, I've tried. The 6-qt deep saute pan lid will cover the 12-inch fry-pan, for instance, but it won't give it the tight seal that you'd get from a tailored lid.

Real high quality materials. Heats fast, lasts forever, induction compatible.

Cooking in $20 non stick pans is enough for a lot of people, but for more serious home cooks they don't cut it.

Pulled the trigger on this. $230 after coupons/tax.

Moving into a new house soon and was really hoping to come across a good deal on stainless pans. I've used these at relatives in the past and they are excellent pans. At this price I really think its a great buy, hopefully they don't let me down!

I've been using basic aluminum pans for years.
I have a cast iron I do use for steak sometimes.

So better heating, versatile, and durable huh?

Bought the same set last July for the 225 with a new account opening at Macy's. Completely satisfied with this I already had six all clad pans And the set made a perfect addition as sometimes I use all nine burners
