Now go figure that I'd just picked up a 10" D5 All-Clad fry pan a couple of weeks ago -- often you can find single pieces at TJ Maxx / Marshalls / Ross etc, and this one was a bargain at $50 -- but I finally bit because my current second-hand sauce pan is pretty battered and battle-scarred, and I could certainly use the sauté pan.
All-clad is really good stuff, definitely one of the occasions it's worth the premium over other brands -- on sale at least. Do people actually pay retail? That's pretty scary!
When I moved to Hawaii a few years ago, I had to put all of my vintage cast iron cookware into storage on the mainland, so I've been making due with cheap pots and pans for a while now. I cook a lot, so definitely looking forward to the upgrade. Hope all goes well.
This is probably close to the deal of the year for a D3 set new in box. $50/pan is basically on par with basic Chinese steel sets. The 25% + cashback makes is an insane combo, bringing it lower than 50% off usual retail.
