This seems like a great deal if you don't mind not having 10 key number pad. The specs are all great at this price point, it has power and HDMI outt he back which if you haven't had before it's dramatically better for almost all use cases than the side ports.
Keep in mind Dell gave this model no Nvidia Optimus because they're annoying like that so don't expect more than an hour and a half of battery life on this thing even during light usage like browsing, even with the brightness turned down as this is not a bright panel either(285 nits~). The thermals are good on this model(unlike their 15") and so is the performance so no worries there but then again competitors aren't struggling either. What they are struggling with is stock as the Legion 5 comes to mind which will probably be the all-rounder for most.
Oh, and the trackpad is one of the smallest I've seen and low, if that might bother you. Overall this a good buy no doubt especially if you want something soon.

I returned my 2070 R3 for that exact reason. The 300Hz variant has battery life that is abysmal. The other versions do 5 hours doing basic web browsing...mine got 1:30ish. Just awful.

Yeah, alienware is weaker this generation MSI, eluktronics and Lenovo generally have better options.
Got it a couple of weeks back. And yes it has no optimus so battery life is terrible . With some tweaks I can get almost 3 hours of browsing but I shouldn't have to. Gaming is great and it's a power house but not sure if I am going to keep it .
