To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

My apology for getting your plan wrong. We'll find out on the 18th. I think we have different scenarios going on, some people dropping their addon and some aren't (like me). I think the only line in question is the line with unlimited high speed data addon; all your other lines will get the free upgrade. So we'll find out on the 18th and come back and share our results.

On a lighter note, anyone here recommend not getting the iPhone 12 mini? I have a few old iPhone 5's I may trade in to get half off
Get the mini 12, you're going to love how portable it is. T-Mobile gave away them for free last year with trade in and I find myself using it more than the 12 pro

i agree with the other user in that its sometimes best to get a overseas rep. i have been told countless time by u.s. reps that what i wanted would be impossible only to find a filipino rep who would be able to do my request. its funny because the reps in the u.s. says its systematically impossible. hah.
SOMEONE understands me!! It's because the Filipinos don't care they care more about time on call and resolution. So they just fix your issue and move on!

Will those on the super legacy grandfathered unlimited T-zones, preferred android web or BTV data plans also be getting the free upgrade? They did say they are giving those on a "limited data plan" upgrades. Since T-zones is technically unlimited data that supports limited devices, there is no way to know for sure if anything will change on Apr 18.

For those who don't know, with T-zones you are never deprioritized and video is never throttled, which makes it the ultimate unlimited experience. But T-Mobile has gone as far as banning every IMEI of US sold Android phones from using T-zones, but iPhones have always been spared.
I heard its because Apple refuses to let tmo mess with the imei # because they want a pleasant user experience.

Thanks, my god, I'm going to have pretty much all my lines on EIP! I already have 3 lines doing EIP (one iPhone 11, one S21, one S21+); planning to do 2 iPhone 12 with iPhone 11 trade-ins, a iPhone 12 mini with iPhone 5 trade-in, and maybe a couple Samsung 5G A34 freebies with miscellaneous old phone trade-ins. Definitely building credit with this.

Looking at trading into 11s for 12s and everybody at their customer service says that it's only for the Samsung Galaxy A32... this is three different representatives now. Despite showing them the language from T-Mobile.

Can anybody confirm they have done I trade for an 11 for a 12?

I was stuck with my T-zones account until late last year due to the reasons you mentioned in your post but it sucked to not be able to take advantage of any promotions, pay for my texts, not have coverage while travelling abroad, etc. Most of my data usage was in places where I had wifi so it did not make sense for me to be limited that way. I have been much happier since moving over to the Magenta, several free lines on my account, participated device promotions. I actually regret not having abandoned that plan sooner. I am only paying a few extra dollars (net) more but my entire family now has phone lines and I have a few spare ones as well.

I think if you're already on a grandfathered SC, then it's possible. If you're on T-Mobile One or the new Magenta ones, I highly doubt it.
Well maybe if you had a grandfathered plan in the past then it might be possible to get a magenta or even one plan to be downgraded to a Select or Simple Choice plan if you have the right SOC.

Also on a sidenote does anybody know if its possible to have a free one plus or plus up option on a magenta or magenta 1.0 plan like the old Tmo One plan?

I just figured it would be nice to hace a free addon for HD streaming Vs SD & extra Hotspot vs only 5 GB. Thanks in advance. Ron.

I have a question. I'm on a legacy SC NA plan, 2 paid lines and 4 free. 3 of them already got the targeted unlimited upgrade 2 years ago. With all the taxes and fees that the free lines are slapping onto the bill it would be a financial wash for me if I were on the ONE plan (2 for $120). Big advantage of ONE would be the free Netflix and double roaming speeds overseas.

Since some of you are trying to get on a legacy SC plan, would it be possible for me to switch to a legacy ONE plan instead with the help of the right agent? And, most importantly, would the free lines transfer over and stay free?

Thanks!

I always take advantage of the deals and most of the time sell the phones if nobody on my plan needs an upgrade. You can continue to keep the credits rolling and take advantage of more promos as long as you pay off the EIP on the lines you want to keep doing more on. Most people think they have to keep the EIP on the entire time. Nope. I have 3-4 Credits just on my single line. And multiple on others.

I understand that those 4 rounds the last few years upgrading people off the data stash to unlimited didn't allow you to drop your Paid options. But this time around it isnt a limited special event. I never got those texts. Nobody ever got updated. This time it's a SYSTEM WIDE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!! ITS ON A FREAKING VIDEO. Last time you had to be lucky as crap. The Reps are going to have access to much better tools this time around to help midigate issues. Last time there was no tools they had. Just lucky as piss.
While everything you say makes perfect sense, why on earth do you think TMO would give out free unlimited upgrades AND allow people to drop paid data addons so they can make less money? They are a business, not a charity.

Going by your rationale no one should pay more than the cheapest plan that's ever been out there that qualifies for unlimited on the 18th. Try to explain that to new customers who have no choice but to get on the new expensive Magenta plans.

Dude I have had 9 lines that where 4gb free SC for 7+ years. Don't ask me why they are willing to give me Unlimited on them all!! I think when I first started simple choice it was 500mb then 2gb then 4gb. They keep giving out more. I'm not saying I'm entitled to Jack crap but I will take advantage of anything they doWink

I'm not asking you why you're getting unlimited for free on the 18th. I am asking why you think you should tell people to drop their paid data addons because it's a safe bet that they too will get the upgrade after doing that.

I'm just saying why not drop them. Nobody knows for sure what will happen. But if you had a line established before 4-7 you should be fine according to there fine print. Why would I not tell people to take advantage! Big companies take advantage of all there tax loopholes so I'll take advantage of any loophole I can think of!
