To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

Does it have to be an old T-Mobile phone? Would a working Tracfone flip-phone work?

Hey BJFish, did anything odd happen to your line on which you dropped unlimited and took up 4G free today? My data is no longer working on that line at all. I just spent an hour with T-mobile re-provisioning the line but hasn't been fixed yet. If I pop in a SIM card from one of the other lines on the account everything works fine, so i know it's specific to T-mobile and that specific line I changed the data plan on. Wondering if this is just a fluke or if this is happening to others who made this change.
So my line is super fetching slow but it works. Cause I already used like 60gb of data for the bill period so when I downgraded to 4GB it's still unlimited but slow as piss after 4gb. Cause I already used the 4 for the money on the unlimited plan. Confusing but that's why my guess. Only WhatsApp and simple things work. Need to wait till the 18th.

EXACTLY!!

Most people are trying to get advice as if a T-mobile rep is on this forum. Heck, i wouldn't even trust a t-mobile rep to answer any of these questions because they probably don't really know the answer yet. So unless the ceo of t-mobile himself is on this forum (is that you desi_babu?), I don't see the point of people getting advice on what to do.

Right now, just stay put until April 18 and relax!
Even the T-Mobile reps don't know. Tforce tried to tell me the trade in for half off oven with an iphone 7or newer only applies to the iphone mini me until I sent him a screenshot of that section of the press release. Unbelievable.

My reply was based on the available information and the disclaimer that was on the video announcement by the CEO and the press release. Of course, it could be that this is just what they are saying publicly, but that in reality their system is not designed to catch people adding lines or dropping data plans in the interim and it will all work out for you.

Feel free to try and post what happens on the forum. Worst case you'll pay out of pocket, it wont be upgraded and you can get rid of the line later, or maybe because you made changes to your plan at all it invalidates the entire promotion on all lines of your account. At this point it is not clear.
Exactly well I keep saying nobody actually knows Jack crap it is true you get it and I get it that if you watch the video it's specifically States that the line needs to be older than 4-7. But a line has nothing to do with data. So the reason I dropped my unlimited $20 old line is precisely because of that language and not because of everybody else. And I feel like I have a pretty good case when all nine of my other lines get upgraded on the 18th and if mine for some crazy reason doesn't I can complain to them and probably get my way if I explain to them that video and the disclaimer on it. Either way it's a risk that I'm willing to take.

Hence why I keep saying tforce is just $12h kids. They have no idea how all these promos work 80% of the time. And I like the Filipinos more cause they fix my issues better. Like unlocking phones before the dumb 40 day waiting period that the Americans make you wait🤣 works everytime. Call at night!

lol ok so if i add a new line on SC 2gb after 4/18 it wont be upgraded for free to 5g at no extra cost Smilie ?
Correct. Most likely because of the disclaimer in the video if you add a line after 4/7/21 and say you are on Simple choice it would probably be the 4 GB free. But we still don't have any idea it's possible that it allows you to add the unlimited who the heck knows at this point. But going off of just the disclaimer at the bottom of the video it's talking about the line before 4/7 and not the data on the line. Hence why I dropped my old $20 unlimited data down to the free 4 GB because I believe that all my plan will be upgraded on the 18th. But we still have to wait.

So quote me in the press release where you deduced that if you add a line after 4/18 it will not be included in unlimited?

It would make absolutely no sense, since the promotion is based on trying to get people to switch to tmobile by adding lines AFTER 4/18.

I am not saying who is definitely right or wrong. Just all of these specifications based how you interpret the press release is getting out of hand.

Not sure what's worse, the people dishing out advice or the people asking for advice and actually listening based on what people are PURELY SPECULATING.
"LINES EXISTING ON 4-7-21" it says exactly that. Watch the video.

I know this is all guesses / speculation,

but my question to you is based on what you are trying you had a SC line with free Unl you moved back to 4gb to see if you will be upgraded after 4/18 to 5g UNL right?

But my question is I am trying to add SC ( i sitll can - business account) and should I wait till after 4/18 to add the new SC 2GB line or add it before , ofco 4/7 has gone that I know.

I will add lines, worst case i have to cancel them again i will pay only pro rated amount for the days in cycle if it does not upgrade for free by 4/18. Good thing my bill cycle cuts near around end of the month so...wont take long to know...

Thanks.

Good thing I didn't drop that unlimited addon. The family member who uses that line will whine until the world ends and he's a state away so he'd be on his own. I guess another reason to wait if you need that data badly

It also says.
"If you change your plan, that may affect data rules."

This could have many interpretations it's very generic. One interpretation could be if you do anything to your plan after 4/7 changing the data on any of the line could disqualify you.
But it could be interpreted as if you add a line on your plan that could disqualify you.
And again it could be interpreted as something entirely different.
And again it says "may affect" who the heck knows if it will affect anything. It's too generic of a statement. Gives them lots of leeway to do whatever they want or not do whatever they want.

Also the Chat REPS are as clue less as us, they know nothing. Not sure if its cuz its the weekend or what.

Half of them are saying they don't even know what rate plans are eligible and that if eligible TMO would text us.

My thinking is, I'd rather risk adding it before 4/18 cuz what they are for sure saying that at or after 4/18 the lines would be 5g upgraded. So wont need to wait for long. That way if its eligible, the line may get a text saying its going to get upgraded, or ill just cancel the line ...

But if they basically phase out all non unlimited (capped plans like 2gb , 4gb, 6gb) then you wont be able to add a new line, of-course if you have a SC talk/text line you should technically automagically get the 5g data unlimited add on SOC tacked..

but my case is different its AAL new SC 2GB line...voice.
