To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

Yeah waiting for the 18th. The funny thing is I have one free line and another line I opened 1.5 years ago for the free iPhone 11 offer (I'm canceling this line after I get all my credits at the end of the year) thar will get the unlimited high speed data (they have limited LTE data). I wish I could "swap" the data option on one of these lines with the line I need to have the unlimited high speed data; I asked T-force and no go
Maybe a friendly rep will do it for you after it's all set up. I wouldn't close it just yet. You could also find a friend to share it with and use their phone number with it using google voice or port it onto the line.

Nope. You may get lucky and find a rep to add it manually but ymmv. By default users with paid unlimited will remain paid.
@Jman, any thoughts on what the executive CSR told me about disqualifying the entire account for this free upgrade because of dropping the paid unlimited on one out of 9 lines on the family plan?

Also, I can see that the rep switched it to the 4GB free option at 10am on the 7th according to the developer tools in chrome page. Technically that is 1.5hrs before the announcement so you'd think they would code the system to automatically upgrade all limited data plans before the announcement on 4/7, not 4/6... Is there any hope for my account?

Those issues ussualy happen at Authorized Resellers, with any carriers, to be honest. I always avoid visiting those stores to sign up or buy anything. Remember that T-Mobile cut off their corporate stores significantly in the last 2 years and most of the stores out there are Authorized Resellers, including Costco.

Try to do your deals online or over phone, not visiting the store, unless you know what you are doing.
Nope, I'm talking about a T-Mobile corporate location. Big pink sign, only sells T-Mobile, shows up on corporate site as a location, and corporate acknowledged that it's their store. Their solution was to simply send me to another store (in NYC they are walking distance from each other there's so many).

Quick question for you guys, does anyone know if a metro PCs porting to T-Mobile would qualify as a 'new' line?

I have an uncle that is on metro PCs and wants to switch to T-Mobile. I've been searching for a deal but it's difficult with just one line

I see you can trade in an iPhone 11 for a free iPhone 12.

Any way to trade in an iPhone 12 mini for a larger iPhone 12?

I wish I can do it online. Only pay the tax for the phones. Don't want to pay $5 for each new sim, and $20 for in store assistants fee each line.

have iphone 11 with remaining bill credits. If I upgrade to iphone 12, won't that eliminate the existing bill credits?

For the unlimited data, I'm on grandfathered Simple choice 4/$100 with 2.5Gb data. Is the free upgrade to unlimited 5G speeds? Will this work for streaming Netflix?

Pay off the iPhone 11's EIP balance obviously; I don't think you could trade in the iPhone 11 anyways if you didn't own it outright by paying off its balance. "If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC) as an account-level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months)." So you'll continue getting the credits at the account-level which also frees up the line for the iPhone 12 credits. If you're paranoid, confirm this with T-Force via Twitter or Facebook message and you'll have that conversation as backup in case the bill credits stop (which can happen but they'll fix it if it does).

And yes, you'll get unlimited high speed data which you can consume however you wish including Netflix.

A new/added line is a new line. The only issue with porting a number from Metro is that any promotions that require a port-in from a competitor (aka AT&T, Verizon, etc.) do not qualify. If there's no port-in promotions in play then you're good to go.

Figured...would have been good to qualify for a cheap free phone. Even free after bill credits. I might just buy a cheap locked iPhone and use rsim. Thanks

If you're interested in say the free iPhone SE with the required port-in from an eligible carrier, maybe get creative. It's work but you can do something like port the Metro number to Numberbarn ($2/mo) or Google Voice (more expensive). And start a new line and port-in using a phone number bought from eBay (I see Boost #s for $12) or whatever cheap non-T-Mobile cell plans are out there (Tracfone?). The Numberbarn/GV number can be forwarded to the new # that'll be used temporarily. Once the bill credits start, you could then port in the old Metro # to the line. Maybe more work than you want to tackle but something to consider.

That's VERY different from what I was complaining about, lmao. If my wife and I did research and we settled on Airpod pros, even if it wasn't the way I would go personally, I would have no issue with her going out and buying them. She's free to decide what she wants for whatever reason she wants. I'm talking about asking someone when you already KNOW BETTER and then letting them steer you in another direction. My wife fully agreed with me afterward that what she wound up getting was worse than what we had already researched, and was furious that they lied to her.

What gets me is when you go "ask someone" about something and somehow expect more expertise than you yourself can research. I'm not talking about medicine or law or even finance. I mean a basic product that the average salesperson is no more trained than you can be if you just read some promotional materials. They are useless and will offer zero help, possibly even steering you towards higher commission earning items.
Well, that's kinda similar to be honest !
She also asked "someone" less techie ladies who convinced her that "AirPod Pros are the best" and now she doesn't want to believe 100s of reviews or own analysis !

But yeah, I know this is going OT so let's leave it there...lol
Not planning to build a castle with all those TDs from our fellow SDers, even though this was meant to be more of entertainment...LMAO
