To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

That is a preposterous statement. First off, you're welcome to change your service. I'm paying about $140 per month after taxes for 5 lines of unlimited mobile service plus -- as of the launch of their new promotions -- unlimited high speed data at no additional charge.

I don't know what you're paying but you're making a statement with literally ZERO knowledge of their financial expenses. I challenge you to provide ANYTHING to substantiate your ridiculous pretense of knowledge of the costs associated with providing their service.

You're just making things up because you want something for free. Guess what? You don't deserve ANYTHING for free. Nobody does. That being said, exchanging a brand new phone with the latest cellular technology in it for something that became obsolete YEARS ago is on any possible quantifiable level free.

Are you seriously crying that they aren't just giving free phones away to everyone regardless of their intention to use the service or not? That's one of the most selfish things you could possibly say. The irony is that you're obviously a hypocrite.

I wonder if you think it's reasonable that everyone who labors should do so for free, because that's EXACTLY what you're expecting. These devices didn't POOF into existence out of thin air. There is/are research, materials, employees, logistics, benefits, and taxes that all play into the cost of that device which you are crying about receiving in exchange for little more than a promise that you'll keep the service for a while in exchange.
Whole-heartedly agree.

Using T-Mobile's and Costco's promotions, a couple of aftermarket sales, and some old phones, I was able to end up with 2 flagship 5G phones for about $100 out of pocket.

Some friends think I'm crazy for the amount of work I do to upgrade my phones. One friend said that it's too much wrap their brain around. But it has worked for me. It can work for anyone, as long as they're willing to put in the effort.

What happen to the iPhone trade in? I'm on t-mobile account page. Only A32 free with trade in. iPhone says need both trade in and add a line for up to $830 credit, which is stupid - quote:
"Get up to $830 off when you add a line and trade in an eligible device."
Start the iPhone 11 for iPhone 12 trade in as an upgrade on an existing line and you'll see the $830 promotional credit which you can confirm before proceeding. No add a line needed. The offer on the t-mobile home page is a different promotion and not the one being discussed in this thread.

So I chatted a T-Mobile Expert; if you're paying for an unlimited high speed data option ($15, $20, etc), you likely won't get the free upgrade. My current data options just have 1) No Data and 2) $15 Unlimited 4G with 14GB hotspot. As of last night they took away the default 10GB high speed w/ data stash data (comes with my SC 10GB LTE Family Match Promo plan) addon, so I couldn't even "downgrade". Anyways, the CSR I talked escalated to a higher department to try to get the unlimited high speed data for me for free, I hope it's successfully.

So BJFish is right after all that you should drop the paid option. But hey, BJFish, please don't gloat or say "I told you so"; all us legacy grandfathered SC plan subscribers just want to get the unlimited high speed data as anyone else. I'm not going to call T-Force any name; I believe they know a lot more than the average CSR you call on 611. I do believe T-Force is not as good as before.

At this point, I just hope the escalation will get me the unlimited high speed data for free. The "expert" said that should happen but I'll believe it when I see it.

Woohoo, I finally got my Unlimited high speed for free on the line I was paying $15/mo for the same data addon. I didn't get it through the simple 5G free upgrade way with this thread's promo; I had to go through the hard way, through a T-Mobile Expert and through T-Force but Tracy from T-Force came through for me. Hey, BJFish, don't bash T-Force and call them clueless $12 wage earners; they may have not helped you but be nice to those people; sure some may not know as much as others on there but you have to be persistent and find one that eventually knows the ins/outs of the T-Mobile system. I give you credit for taking the risk to drop your addon early and am happy you got your free upgrade but this is not a competition.

Chat response with T-Force

Quote :
Hey there xxxxx! Thank you for the unwavering patience, and understanding, you've shown us in waiting for our reply. We sincerely appreciate it. My name is Tracy and I'm here to help and support you. Thank you for the effort that you've made to reach out and connect with T-Force. We are very excited for our customers to take advantage of this amazing promotion. Per my resources it does appear that the data will be added on the backend automatically so there is nothing that you need to do on your end. I will however help with removing the additional data feature of your on your line ending in XXXX and add back the data that comes included with the plan.
2 Hours later on my T-Force chat box.

Quote :
XXXX, just wanted to check back in with you and update you on what is happening with your account. I did have to reach out to our offline support team to get help with removing your current data feature and add the $0 data plan. It can take 72 hours to complete and once completed you will get a text confirming the change. I will however will also follow back up with you to ensure that everything is correct as well on Saturday. Please let me know what questions you have. If none, I'll be sending you a text with my name, and personal guarantee, so you know who took good care of you. Thank you for your time, efforts, and for being the best part of T-Mobile. Enjoy your evening!
So for those of you still paying $15, $20, $30, etc for the unlimited high speed data addon on your line, they have to remove that addon first before they can add the free unlimited high speed data addon. Yes, BJFish, you were right, no need to gloat, not a competition.

Like some have said, you could wait until the system finalizes in the next few days to see if you got the free upgrade for the paid unlimited high speed data addon too before you contact T-Force. With all the phone promos going, expect to wait a while for a response

So what. Then why not take advantage of it now than place blame on them. Like any promotion, they can end it sooner than expected. It's a free freaking phone, get a grip.

You snooze you lose.
Absolutely.

I jumped on the LG G6 BOGO promo on day one. Since LG ran it outside of T-Mobile, there were some issues that came up, and the promo was cancelled after only a few days.

My friend tried to get it later, but no luck.

You snooze, you lose.

I did the iPhone 12 promo last night. Selected my iphone 11 to upgrade/trade-in, it showed $830 credit (instant and bill credit), and no new line required. Total due included tax and shipping.

Placing the line order on the xxxx line would lose the yyyy promotion credits even if the phone is paid off. Are you wanting to have the yyyy promotion credits stop on the line to start the new promotion?
For the life of me, I can't convince this rep that once EIP is paid off, another one can start without losing EIP credits.
I guess I'll just try in a few days hoping for a different rep.

EDIT: She finally came around after checking with her leadership. "Promotions should actually stay"

Yes. I awaiting a Total Wireless iPhone 7 to be delivered today for my trade-in ($114 shipped including $35 plan, $22.50 coupon, and tax) for a sister who was going to trade in her XR which will now be re-used.
