After 3K+ comments I still can't figure out the math if someone pays off the phones early and keep getting bill credits. Lol What are the benefits? TIA
Quote from cgigate :
If you pay off early, you won't get credit...
there's no benefit
You will still get promotional credits if you pay off the phone early (if you wait until you've received the first bill credit). If you pay off the phone early, you will still receive the bill credits for the remainder of the 24 months as long as you keep that line active. Benefits are the phone is now owned by you completely so easier to sell (no informed buyer should buy a financed phone), it can be unlocked, that line is now freed up for another EIP.

Besides my own personal experience and everyone else here mentioning cgigate is wrong, here's T-Mobile's own policy stating that the recurring device credits will remain once an EIP is paid off: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...al-credits

Maybe I'm missing it somewhere in here, but what's the steps for trade-in when you don't want to active the phone?
I have two lines I want to upgrade to this phone, and two I don't - but would still like to trade-in some old phones for the A32 so that I can get the max of 4.
There's no notion of requiring the old phone you're trading in be activated or used on your line; it can be an AT&T or Verizon phone if that makes it any more clear. And there's no notion that the new phone you're getting ever needs to be activated or used on any of your lines.

Just go and upgrade two of your lines, choosing the phone you want to grade to (Galaxy A32 5G?), the trade-in, and confirm you'll get the promotional credits before proceeding and signing the EIP agreement.

I have a line with an iPhone SE EIP with credits every month, it's not paid off yet, can I trade in another phone to get the A32 5G on this line? Or do I pay off the iPhone SE today and then the SE credits would still apply and double up with the A32 credits?

From the wiki, it looks like the iPhone credits would roll up to the account level?
As you already read in the wiki, pay off the SE. You will continue getting the remainder of the SE promotional credits as well as the new one you're signing up for for the A32 5G promotion.

Is the sim card already inside the sim tray or separate for the iphone 12? Thanks
For iPhone, already installed in the tray.
For A32, it's separate!
I have bought both so I know this for sure.

If the phone is "Free" why is there 24 monthly bill credits? So how much are you paying each month for this "Free" phone?
You will pay nothing each month. You will pay tax when you upgrade and trade in. The point is you potentially extend your contract with T-mobile for 24 months. If you leave T-mobile before 24 months, you will be charged for the full price of the phone.

It's easier by asking than reading 3 posts up.
Beside it will be asked again and again in the next promotions to come.

Did you get upgraded storage (64 ---> 128gb)? That would cost about $50 more.

Yes. I did. I figured it was the extra storage upgrade costs too. Thanks

I have an old t-mobile g2 that I was hoping to trade in for the a32 deal. I see the page says must power on but I don't have any batteries for the phone anymore. I'm fairly certain it would power on if it had a battery in it but I don't have one handy. Can I still trade this in?

Hey @xtrabad, not that I'm planning to do this but let's say I currently have 20 months of remaining credits for an iPhone 12 on a line and I pay it off. Then I get, let's say the A32 (this promo) on that line. If the credits for the iPhone 12 move to account level and I decide to port that line number out (or cancel it), I know I will lose the monthly credits for the A32 and have to pay out of pocket for it but do I also lose the credits for the iPhone 12, since they move to account level (assuming i have other lines and didn't cancel the account)? Just wondering

I figure the answer is yes, I will also lose the iPhone 12 credits or else users will do this to continue to get credits for the more expensive iPhone 12 and just get off the "contract" by paying for the cheaper A32 (1/3 of the price)

I am having something strange trying to get A32 on my account. I have 7 lines in my plan. I am not able to pick the line that does not have an EIP for the upgrade. It is showing me only 3 ot of my 7 lines as eligible for the upgrade!! How can I get to select which line to have the new phone EIP associated with?

My store had them in stock but could only do the free A32 5G with a new line. They could have fulfilled the trade-in offer, but the phone would need to be shipped and it was already OOS for delivery.
So if they would of had it in stock for delivery would you have gotten free Shipping plus the $30 costco cash card?
