does anyone know how long TM expect to have the old phone hold its charge?
Have an old LG android, perfect screen, not wet, and can turn on.
BUT, it does not seem to hold charge for more than 2 days (when turn off).

Thought?
Damn... even I didn't check how long it holds charge even while switched off !!!
But I think they will just charge it for a while and check it, not that they expect the battery in mint condition !
In fact, I really doubt of they are going to expect anything out of these flip phones !
These are going for some recycling and at the min they will replace the battery if at all these will ever be used again !

Check out oneplus nord n10 5G and Motorola one Ace 5G. I got oneplus nord n10 5g for free via metro by T-Mobile and the Motorola one Ace 5G was $19.99 from metro by T-Mobile too.

Both are sub 300 phones and they are much better than this Samsung A32 5G.

My point is the screen on the A32 5G is terrible that a 720p screen with this low quality should only exist on $100 low end phones, not on a $282 so called "mid range" 5G phone.
True !
But I don't think anyone is justifying the $280 price for this phone, all are justifying the "free" price !
Not to mention, you might quickly catch the difference between 720p and 1080p but may be some other folks don't notice it that much ! For browsing and normal functionality (other than gaming/watching videos) may be the difference is not that much, who knows? right?

I don't know the other offers (OnePlus and Motorola) you mentioned but if those gave you free and better phones WITHOUT adding a line or porting-in from others then those must be better deals than this deal and no arguments there !
In fact you should share such deals here on SD explaining the pros of those devices so everyone can get helped (at least those folks who have Metro accounts)!
There have been great device offers from Verizon too lately but then you must have Verizon account or willing to move to Verizon for that, right?

I just want to say the screen on the A32 is low quality. For free, it is still worth to get this phone if you are already a T-Mobile customer without intention to move to other carriers. I personally won't use such a low quality 720p screen in 2021 and I will just sell it or give it to someone.

Anyone who have ever used a phone with $300 tag will be bothered with the low quality 720p screen on the A32. The cpu processor is good though.

No one should or would buy this phone for more than $200. There are much better 5G phones in the $200-$300 price range.

Btw: this phone doesn't have a dedicated light sensor but uses camera to adjust adaptive screen brightness, which will cause huge battery drain from process "CameraLightSensor". Only way to fix the battery drain is to disable adaptive screen brightness.

I was hoping they would sell out of the A32 and start subbing in the Nords or Moto Ace or anything else. . .but that's not going to happen. Looks like TMO and Sammy came up with a deal for both to pad market share. the A32 5G is only being sold TMO network variant, no other networks, much less unlocked. Means they were able to skimp on Screen etc. and still keep "MSRP" up at $282 as there's nobody else they have to answer to in justifying specs vs. price on this model. Keep production costs down and still get credit for giving out 5G samsungs. . .

It's like the WM Black Friday version of a decent but economy TV model. . .

And by the way,
your post was the classic example of comparing apples with oranges (in your case for the sake of pushing your invalid point forward) !!!
I found both the deals you mentioned (links below) and guess what, both need port-in !!!
I mean seriously comparing deals with "port-in required" and "no new activation required"???
Come on man...! Next time pls post links to your claims or else no one's going to believe you if you lie like this !

BTW, Motorola deal says "In-Store Only $40" and not $20 like you claimed !
Motorola Ace deal

28GB OnePlus Nord N10

I WAS $19.99. Just google "motorola one Ace 5G for $19.99" and you will see news about it.
No promotion will run forever!!

Need port-in? Buy a boost mobile number on ebay for $5 and problem solved.

Like someone else has said, you are comparing this phone with the yardstick of like $400 or above !
There is a reason why T-Mo is giving away these phones for free (yeah, your flip phones are worthless and you know that) and not any other Android phone, let alone an iPhone !
The market price of A32 might be 280 but in reality T-Mo must be getting these for $50 max bulk ordering in millions !
What ppl are saying is, these are TOO GOOD for THIS price !
For $280? Naah !
For free (or rather $23 tax)? Hell yeah !!!
We all love 4K monitors right? But if someone is giving you brand new 1080p monitors for free or as a replacement of those ancient CRT monitors you might have, should you take those? Hell yeah !
FREE monitor w trade in?, pls share lol, jk

Great deal for me as I get to recycle these oldies, and give to those who might need the newer phone, but on budget. win win

My only point is that the 720p screen on the A32 is low quality. You call it "invalid" point?
The metro deal requires port-in, which can be solved by buying a number on ebay for $5, but no string attached.
The t-mobile deal requires two-year "uncarrier contract". It seems fair to comparing them.

I was referring to other postpaid network carriers. . .i.e. VZW and ATT. . .so as to keep their specs vs. price honest. And agreeing with you as to wanting one of the other better Spec'd "$280ish" priced phones instead.

That being said, I will still be getting a few of these A32's. Have a family member that doesn't see so well, loses or breaks 3 phones a year, and only uses them for Duo calls/messages, taking photos and videos that they just and up erasing and doing the process all over again, and of course watching cartoons and music videos. . . .and literally nothing else. Yep, special needs kiddo. But the ability to get several of these works for us. . .and will be glad to be getting an upgrade from all those Visible Moto E6's from last year they went through.

Same here. I am not telling people to not buy the A32 for free.
Definitely buy the A32 for free if you are not leaving t-mobile in the next 2 years, but expect a low quality 720p screen on the A32 if you plan to use it as a main device.
I got two A32s but won't personally use them. Most people are buying this A32 to sell or as a backup phone.

I also did the METRO port in of two lines earlier this year. I got a Nord10, two Nord 100 and a MOTO G7. With a moth's service and taxes it was right at $200. Compare to $80 for these 4 phones.
