Questionable quality, wont last, but its cost is so dang cheap. Especially after leaving a 5 star review and receiving a $20 amazon gift card from Vankyo"
Once they give out a bunch of these gift cards and secure the number of 5 star reviews that they want, they can make the products even worse than they already are, jack up the prices, and essentially scam people who buy their garbage product thinking it's good, since they will be highly ranked on Amazon.
They count on good old fashioned greed, or at least people being naive enough to not realize what's going on.
But hey, you made a profit of $8 right? So who cares if a few thousand people after you get screwed.
I said no, just send the charger.
And they did lol.

Now for me, the mic doesn't work and box was all dinged up. I did all sorts of plug and unplug to get the mic going and no go. Build quality is decent for the price point. sounds good for zoom meetings. Unfortunately, ears start to sweat after a while on calls.

There's a volume wheel on back, left side of the headset. Had the same problem. Much louder without the 7.1 box.
Overall it's a decent headset. We're not talking Logitech G935 here, but for the price it's better than I thought it would be. I have not tried the 7.1 yet. I've only tried it directly connected to the PS4 controller. I have no complaints for the money.

EDIT:
Got it a few days ago and kids using it. They like it very much. Sound, mic, material/construction is decent, above average.
I used it on the 1st night to listen to some music, and sound is crisp with clear booming bass.
VERDICT:
Good buy for $12. Time will tell how long it'll last. Keep telling my kids to not throw it around....!
The reviews are on the overall value not "decent headphones."

That's not the point.
An item of this type would benefit incredibly if you just use those $12 toward a decent entry-level headset from any established brand. Can be had easily from $30-$50.
Value isn't just derived from the cost of entry— it's found in usability, longevity, and opportunity cost.
This thing will find its way to a landfill soon enough. Some items just aren't made to be purchased for pennies.
