Being in stock is the slick part here. Not on sale but well priced for the capability.

Similarly spec'd generators from competitors are scarce.

shipping is $10 with standard membership, free with premium. Shipping time for me was 7-10 days.

Wgen5300DFv is the smallest least expensive dual fuel generator that will drive a well pump, electric water heater and built-in major appliances. Equipped with both RV and L14 30R outlets i.e. "transfer switch ready" means that it can easily be wired to energize both sides of the mains panel.

Dual Fuel, RV/Transfer Switch Ready with 120/240V Voltage Selector

Easily Powers Sump Pumps, AC, Refrigerators, Well Pumps and More

Comes with mobility kit, wheels, tow handle, LP hose and regulator, oil, funnel, tool kit.

Run time 50% load: 13.5 hours gas and 9 hours on 20# LP cylinder.

Output on LP propane is about 10% but at 4800 watts still enough for most water heaters.

Running Amps
22A @ 240V 44A @120V

Running Amps (Propane)
20A @ 240V 40A @ 120V

VFT displays voltage output, frequency, and lifetime hours.
.
The next most popular model is the Wgen7500DF which offers remote electric start, auto-start on mains power failure ( ST accessory required ) in addition more power. But it is twice the cost.

Those who do -not- need 240 volt operation or the raw power may be better off with an inverter generator with low THD. Other options are to connect a smart charger + battery bank and battery driven stand alone inverter for sensitive loads or to plug your sensitive devices in to a power conditioner.

Finally, traditional generators with brush-less copper-wound alternators which produce clean power and are commercial duty are available at a higher price such as from Winco and Lifan.

The quite high THD (<23%) of the WGen5300DFv makes it unsuitable for powering sensitive electronic devices.

Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)
Total Harmonic Distortion is a means to measure the quality of electricity. 6% THD is considered the upper limit for "clean" electricity. Above 6% THD the electricity may reduce the life of electrical circuits, cause microprocessors to malfunction and cause furnace controllers to operate incorrectly.

Good deal if it meets your needs though.

Mine was junk. Was Burning oil fast while running. Definitely a internal issue. 4 calls and emails to Westinghouse CS with no response. Returned for refund to Sams club and that was a hassle.

With all the tech built into critical appliances -- AC, furnace, fridge -- not to mention TV, Computers, seems like waiting for a better deal on a unit with lower THD might be a better move in the long run.

I'm hoping for a surplus in units (read-- better deals) now that that we're ~2 months after the big freeze.

I have been waiting for this to go back in stock. Works ok so far, have run a couple of hours on gas. Will then change the oil and try on propane. Build quality looks fine.

All of these generators are made overseas, this one was Vietnam. The quality is going to be the same. Low/questionable. Engines are all Honda clones. No reason to pay $200-$300 more for a different brand that will have the same issues. If you want first world quality you have to buy from first world factory. But no 1st world country make them anymore. Maybe Honda, but Honda is twice the price---or more.

Same here. Used it for 2 hours when I lost power during a freeze. and run it every 1-2 months for 5-10 mins. Runs on first crank.

Dual-fuel is probably a better bet for most folks. With propane, you not only have a alternate fuel, but one that doesn't go bad or foul the carb. As far as costs go (gas or propane), it is negligible compared to the alternatives, which include availabilityWave.
