I can finally drink out of the toilet! In for one!
I use a Sawyer Squeeze when backpacking, because it can do a higher volume and is easier to use for batch purification.

That being said, I see some pretty delicious-looking rivers when my wife and I are day hiking, and this little guy will be perfect to keep in our day pack in case I am suddenly hit with a mighty thirst that only fresh running river water can quench.

So anyways, good deal!
FYI $2 more than previous FP deal. Just cause the deal is posted by SD Staff it is FP. Don't fall for this.

I could be wrong, but this probably won't filter out the chlorine flavor that gets imparted in tap water. It's designed for microscopic organisms and larger debris. With that being said, I'd definitely bring either this or the Sawyer that everyone is talking about if traveling to a place with questionable water safety.

IMHO, the biggest issue is you'll need to get down on all 4's and drink out of the river. I also have read it's not exactly easy to suck the water through the filter.

The other option is to bring a foldable cup, scoop water and drink from that... but if that's the case, then you might as well just use the Sawyer and a pouch.

I wonder if this will be able to filter out water from Diarrhea. Never know when somebody is gonna get thirsty after taco day and no source of water in sight. Asking for a friend.
Yes it can but not as effectively as a sawyer mini, and ewww but I seen people drink from worse looking water before!

So I did not know but these life straws actually got an upgrade in the last year, they in the past were not able to filter out just about any bacteria and protozoa, now they can. Still if im trusting my health to something in a survival situation, I want it to be the best option and this is not it: 1 micron filter vs .1 micron filter on a sawyer mini for $8 more and it can also do 100,000 gallons yes 100,000 compared to the life straws 1000 gallons of water. Swayer mini hands down wins it.

Has anyone heard or used Sawyer? Reading how it is 0.1 microns filtration versus 0.2 microns for the LifeStraw.
