When New Yorker Rachel Chu agrees to spend the summer in Singapore with her boyfriend, Nicholas Young, she envisions a humble family home and quality time with the man she hopes to marry. But Nick has failed to give his girlfriend a few key details. One, that his childhood home looks like a palace; two, that he grew up riding in more private planes than cars; and three, that he just happens to be the country's most eligible bachelor.
On Nick's arm, Rachel may as well have a target on her back the second she steps off the plane, and soon, her relaxed vacation turns into an obstacle course of old money, new money, nosy relatives, and scheming social climbers.

I can't do digital books since I'm on my phone too much reading posts, articles, forums, etc. I didn't realize this was a trilogy and found the boxed set on Amazon for under twenty bucks (about the lowest price it's ever been), so I went ahead and bought that. I really enjoyed the movie so I'm looking forward to reading the three books!
Can someone tell me if a guy would enjoy this? I'm more into audible books. I like romance movies but not romance audiobooks. Idk, someone please help me change my mind but every romance audiobook I've tried always seems to depict the guy as that masculine, mostly self centered business man

I think you'd enjoy it. The man doesn't fill the archetype you mentioned and highlights more of the hierarchy within the women of his family. I haven't read the book yet, but from the movie that's how it seemed. I'm usually not big on romance books or movies, but I enjoyed the movie (I bought the book too so I can read it).

I world recommend checking out the movie before investing the time in the book. I personally found the story of the movie to be pretty average and cliché to where I avoided the book.
