They JUST stopped production, and people are already freaking out saying this is easy to get still.... Yeah, it is, because they have plenty of stock still, but once it's gone, it's gone.
Did people really think they were going to pull them all and throw them all away immediately? I don't understand the mindset here.
I hope scalpers get burned as much as the next guy, but this will very likely go up at least a little in price (or hold it's value) once the stock is finally cleared.
They supposedly pulled digital code cards from stores, but existing physical game cards were not pulled.

Yeah people don't seem to understand how this works. This game will be a collectable in the near future. It just requires some time for stores to run out of their remaining stock and for resellers to sell their stashes for a small upcharge. Once the resell market starts running low, you'll start seeing the lowest asking price for this permanently hovering above $100 and then exponential up from there.

There is a lot of supply, and there will be little future demand.

Supply runs out as more people unwrap their copies. Don't get me wrong, there will always be cheap used copies out there. But the true collectables will be the copies that remain sealed.
Nintendo/1st party games tend to hold their value. Look at the used copies of wii Mario/Zelda games. It's doubtful it will be profitable as a scalper but if you intend on playing this game down the line (2 or 3 years) it might be worth picking it up now. Used copies might not be too cheap compared to the original new price.

I doubt FOMO sales would be more than being widely available physically and digitally for years.
