Let's do some math (Probably we should get it done from the beginning)

Parts Breakdown (amazon ~ MSRP):
CPU AMD 5600x -- $300
Mobo Asrock B500M Pro4 -- $139
Memory DDR4 32GB 3200 MHz -- $160
SSD 1TB NVMe -- $105
DEEPCOOL Gammaxx GT -- $30
800W 80+ Gold PSU -- Let's say $100
Case iBUYPOWER Trace 5 MR -- $80
OS Windows Home + build/shipping fees ~ $100
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Sum it up, that's $1014 for roughly everything but the GPU. Therefore, you're paying $1000 for a 3080.

That means your are getting 3080 almost for MSRP. What can go wrong?
But if something go wrong you can cancel the order before it is shipped.

You are dreaming. Even not considering the supply shortage, I can easily forecast either nvidia not going to release new card until 2023, or price the new card based on hashrate.

Inventory isn't going to be anywhere until 1/22.
Prices are already going down. I have 2 gpus and deciding which to keep and which to sell and just in the past FIVE days of thinking about it, the going rates for them on ebay have gone down $100 on one and $250 on the other.

Like most companies, I'd wager they only charge when it ships.
Nope, your CC is charged once you place the order.

You are dreaming. The GPU prices are leveling off or going up, they are not going down yet.

Does anyone know what brand of GPU it is? Based on pictures it looks like an ASUS Rog?

Not really a deal, in 8 weeks, a 3080 mines around $500, when you factor in the cost of electricity. You might as well buy a more expensive model, mine with it, and enjoy it now.
Agreed, I'm glad I bought my 3080 months ago when everyone was warning me that prices would go down. Paid $1,200 and already mined over $600 worth of ethereum while not gaming. If you just buy your GPUs now, start enjoying better gaming now. By the time they are back to MSRP you'll have earned the difference in your sleep.

Or when the crypto bubble collapses (like markets for products that have zero inherent value always do) there will be a glut of used cards flooding the market dragging down new card pricing.

Unfortunately we have a presidential administration that decides every few weeks that it needs to spend a couple trillion to fix some problem they declare, so cryptos are an attractive shelter from the inflation caused by washingtons money printing.
Did you know a crypto named Helium created their own protocol called Longfi (LoRA WAN) that connects a whole bunch of iot devices and has 100x the distance of wifi?!

So you dont know enough about the mobo to know if you you can upgrade the CPU (ofcourse you can) but you declare that the 5600x is pretty weak (it's not) ...SMH

What considerations were made in choosing the rest of the components such as case, mobo, etc? Are they just the most basic possible to get the 3080 or are they also better than basic performance-wise?
