Let's do some math (Probably we should get it done from the beginning)

Parts Breakdown (amazon ~ MSRP):
CPU AMD 5600x -- $300
Mobo Asrock B500M Pro4 -- $139
Memory DDR4 32GB 3200 MHz -- $160
SSD 1TB NVMe -- $105
DEEPCOOL Gammaxx GT -- $30
800W 80+ Gold PSU -- Let's say $100
Case iBUYPOWER Trace 5 MR -- $80
OS Windows Home + build/shipping fees ~ $100
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Sum it up, that's $1014 for roughly everything but the GPU. Therefore, you're paying $1000 for a 3080.

That means your are getting 3080 almost for MSRP. What can go wrong?
But if something go wrong you can cancel the order before it is shipped.

You are dreaming. Even not considering the supply shortage, I can easily forecast either nvidia not going to release new card until 2023, or price the new card based on hashrate.

Or when the crypto bubble collapses (like markets for products that have zero inherent value always do) there will be a glut of used cards flooding the market dragging down new card pricing.

Unfortunately we have a presidential administration that decides every few weeks that it needs to spend a couple trillion to fix some problem they declare, so cryptos are an attractive shelter from the inflation caused by washingtons money printing.
You can use crypto to buy almost literally anything at this point. It's ironic that you mention money printing, but fail to mention there's 0.0% chance of inflation with bitcoin. I don't know how to tackle that statement fully, without writing a proper essay. Have fun with your cash when inflation goes bananas though!!

decent price, but 2 months time to get it really kills. 2 months and 1 week to be real lol. if you plan to mine to get money back good luck. you got 2-3 weeks before eip 1559 hits XD.

so a lot of gpus and such hardware are going to be offloaded onto the market. it's not about inflation guys, its about the fact that the most profitable coin now will lose possibly 50% of the mining profits, which can kill some people's ability to farm. So essentially, what made the gpus worth money will lose part of that premium. People will still mine, but the argument is what affect this will have on the price of gpus. Obviously they will go down, why else do you think manufacturers are trying to push these out and get the orders in now?

Can this be upgraded to a better CPU if I want to? 5600x is pretty weak
is this a troll comment especially considering you don't know how mobo generations work? 5600x outperforms the 9900k and 10700k in games and just barely behind the 10900 and 5900x.

AM4 can go all the way to 5950X 16-core assuming your cooling/mobo VRMs is up for it. Note that those are very difficult to find, however the scalping on them isn't TOO outrageous like it is with GPUs. MSRP is $800 and ebay scalpers sell them for about $1000. It's possible the Ryzen scalping will stop by June too, I'm still waiting for a 5900X which has MSRP $550 and has 12-cores.

I just called them and they confirmed you will be charged on order. But can cancel any time before it ships for full refund
Just got it because of this. If I find something better within 2 months I'll just cancel this. If not, I have this coming at least.

Thanks

Lol, I clearly stated cryptos can be a shelter from (dollar) inflation.

Here's a definition: "Inflation is the decline of purchasing power of a given currency over time"

The value of cryptocurrency going down means that you can't purchase as much with it as you could when it was higher. That is the definition of inflation and cryptocurrencies have been and continue to be subject to it.

To all of you flipping the gpu at scalper prices, shame on you. You are the problem.

I don't think crypto is going anywhere at this point. Zoomers love it. and if you want to talk about no innate value, neither does the glorified Monopoly Money we use called the Federal Reserve Note.
Best bet for GPU shortage to end is difficulty on Ethereum to reach the point that the profits are low even with free electricity. If someone was making $20 a month with a 3080 instead of $300/month, they wouldn't be willing to pay so much for them.

Scalpers are not the problem. The fact that ALL gpus that can mine Ethereum now have a lot of additional value, is. Do you really think if scalpers didn't exist, you'd be able to walk into a store and buy a 3070 for $499 when the 3070 can make like $200 a month? Everyone would buy them up... and guess what, once the stores are sold out, it goes to what people are willing to pay/sell for on the private market. that's exactly what is going on. It's why even old, extremely common cards like a GTX 1070 are now worth more than they were when they launched brand new like 5 years ago. Or do you think "scalpers" are why used 1070s are going for $400+ too?

I agree with most of that, but the US dollar atleast has the credit of the United States behind it. That is a bit more than the stored ones and zeros of cryptocurrencies.

0% chance of inflation? Huh?

Inflation exists regardless of currency... As does exchange rate.
