Agreed. The two batteries is the best deal out of all the combos imho
I don't know what there is to research, but it sounds like you're trying to "flex" on this post... Regardless, 90% of the people who buy string trimmers are those with suburban lots that don't need or require the power of a gas trimmer because what they're cutting 99% of the time is simply grass. It makes no sense to buy and worry about mixing fuel and dealing with pull starting when they can simply slap the battery on and pull the trigger in about 3 seconds. By all means if you have or cut/trim a lot of brush on say a farm or wooded lot then sure it makes sense, but for most people that's like 1% of the time and not worth the hassle of a gas-powered trimmer.

You can tell you've never used this trimmer. The SRM225 is nothing special to flex on lol
In my experience, I own 80v kobalt tools, one being a string trimmer purchased 5 yrs ago. I use it weekly in the summer on a 3/4 corner lot with fences sidewalks and a back brush line. It works flawlessly and I wouldn't hesitate to get a battery operated one at all. Perhaps it is the higher V that makes the difference but I hate the noise, maintenance/reliability and ugh the constant pull starting gas trimmers, mixing oil/gas in a separate can, etc its just me but I would never buy gas again. The kobalt has a Fast charger and I usually can get away with one battery but sometimes I need a second for a few extra minutes if I skip a week in between trimming. Good luck and this m18 appears to be a slick deal.
"I have too many batteries"
Said no one ever.
