This is actually a pretty solid deal considering usually the deal only includes one 8.0 battery and occasionally another bare lawn tool.

In this case you're getting two - 8.0 Ah batteries

I don't know what there is to research, but it sounds like you're trying to "flex" on this post... Regardless, 90% of the people who buy string trimmers are those with suburban lots that don't need or require the power of a gas trimmer because what they're cutting 99% of the time is simply grass. It makes no sense to buy and worry about mixing fuel and dealing with pull starting when they can simply slap the battery on and pull the trigger in about 3 seconds. By all means if you have or cut/trim a lot of brush on say a farm or wooded lot then sure it makes sense, but for most people that's like 1% of the time and not worth the hassle of a gas-powered trimmer.

the 8s can easily be sold for 100 each, so 100 for that trimmer is a deal imo

I did my research, electric and battery operated string trimmers are good for light duty, not powerful enough to handle large quantities of weeds, so yesterday I bought an Echo SRM-225 from Home Depot, it's a straight trimmer which means I can use universal blades, and yes it was pricy but it's gas powered and strong enough for any job I need for my backyard. I can even do some work on the side if I need to. Gas>battery.

Can anyone on this item, tell me is there actually a battery operated weed eater on the market, that will hang with a gas powered weed eater,I have seen ads were they say the Eco 56 volt or the greenworks 80 volt will cut as good if no better than a 32cc gas weed eater will, can I get any feedback on the matter,I own a gas stihl weed eater now,but would love to get away from gas powered, just scared the battery ones will disappoint me

I have this trimmer from another deal. Thing has a ton of power and does a great job. My only issue is I have a corner lot on a half of acre with about 400ft of sidewalk. I wish I had an extra 8ah battery.

You can tell you've never used this trimmer. The SRM225 is nothing special to flex on lol

Exactly right! I have 5 acres and rarely use my gas trimers/brush cutters anymore, electric is so much easier, lighter and quieter. I have this Milwaukee which I tend to use about 75% of the time for grass trimming due to its light weight and a heavier duty 36v Makita which can handle brush and taller grass.

In my experience, I own 80v kobalt tools, one being a string trimmer purchased 5 yrs ago. I use it weekly in the summer on a 3/4 corner lot with fences sidewalks and a back brush line. It works flawlessly and I wouldn't hesitate to get a battery operated one at all. Perhaps it is the higher V that makes the difference but I hate the noise, maintenance/reliability and ugh the constant pull starting gas trimmers, mixing oil/gas in a separate can, etc its just me but I would never buy gas again. The kobalt has a Fast charger and I usually can get away with one battery but sometimes I need a second for a few extra minutes if I skip a week in between trimming. Good luck and this m18 appears to be a slick deal.
