Not a "deal" necessarily but it is compared to the inflated prices these are going for these days. They restocked this morning (4/10/21) with 22. I picked up one and as of now they still have 17 in stock. I've been looking for it for awhile to complete my build.

What is the chance that those 17 are still available 2 minutes after you purchased your CPU? I've been building my PC since Black Friday and still waiting for the 5900X to be available.

AMD has admitted that Zen 3 processors, such as the Ryzen 5000 CPU series, are vulnerable to a side-channel exploit that's similar to the Spectre flaw that previously impacted a number of Intel processors.

May want to disable Predictive Store Forwarding (PSF) feature which will have slight performance hit.
AMD found the vulnerability and disclosed it. Mitigation should be less than a 0.5% performance hit.

Hmmm, how do you find out how many are in stock before wasting a trip?
Go to the website, set your store at the top of the page. Go here for AMD processors[microcenter.com]. It should have the amount in stock. How accurate that is on an hourly basis is your guess.
You can't order Ryzen 5000 series and some other hot items (like GPUs) for in-store pickup. It says "Locate in Store". Clicking that shows you a nice map of where to walk to reach the right aisle.
I watched one of the stores go from 22 Ryzen 9 5950X in stock earlier in the day to 0 now. Let's see where it is in stock:
5 in Marietta, GA
2 in Rockville, MD
13 in Parkville, MD
25+ in Mayfield Heights, OH
22 in Sharonville, OH
1 in Fairfax, VA
Weirdly, they just bumped up the 5600X price to $350. At that stupid price, 5800X has actually become a better deal per-core at $430, wow.

Do not take a long drive to Microcenter based on the inventory shown on their website. I took a drive to Microcenter because their website showed that they had a dozen 5900x was in stock. When I got there, they told me they ran out of the 5900x within ten minutes of store opening and that their website is not real-time. I can understand that they might be 30 minutes laggy in updating their inventory, but 6 hours after they sold out, their website still showed it was in stock.

That sucks. You probably need to check the inventory before the store opens and get there when it opens. I don't see how "locate in store" is a better idea than "in-store pickup" during a pandemic if it's just going to get a crowd waiting to get in at the same time.
AMD will supposedly increase supply by 20% this quarter, so we could see more of these restocks.
I grabbed a 5950x at the Sharonville store this morning. Before they opened, they had "25+" in stock and after closing today, had 22. To be honest, when I saw the "25+" number, I didn't believe it but I drove 2 hours anyway.
I also got an Asus Dark Hero motherboard and the last Radeon 6700XT they had, and this was around 12:30 PM.
Other than the heat, are these worth twice as much as. a 10900k ?
I took the 10850k deal for only 320$ so I have more budget for the other parts. My old rig is I7-4790k. I think this is a good jump for me. The only thing I will miss is the PCIe 4.0 + 6 cores less but tbh for the current gen, so far only nvme SSD takes some advantage from this . I have to say Ryzen 9 5950X is stronger but comes with a pricey cost.

How much was the 6700XT ?

When i got my 5900x a month ago at Microcenter, everyone was wanting the 5900x and not the 5950x. I got lucky. There was a long line back at the cpu area and everyone was asking for the 5900x. Most were just leaving when they found out there were no more 5900x but a few said I'll go ahead and take the 5950x. I got really lucky. My son was with me and wanting one of the previous gen cpus and we were looking in the cpu case to see if they had any. He happened to notice there were a couple of boxes that said they were 5900x in the case. We got in line and after they had told several more people they were out of the 5900x it was out turn. I asked the guy if those were empty 5900x boxes in the case. He had no clue what I was talking about. We went over there and he said "wow, no one knew these were here". I bought one and my son got his cpu. I was surprised they were not going to let my son get his cpu at first. They said it was 1 amd cpu person no matter which ones you were buying. My son actually had his debit card with him so that was not an issue.
I'm lucky to live near a MC. Last week they had all the different nvidia cards in stock. I thought about going early and standing in line for one but decided the $1050 price tag was not worth it to me for the 3080.

Sounds like same old jerk posting crap like "Oh boy I wish I can be the one to shell out a THOUSAND BUCKS for a cpu!" Lame.
Do wat
Looks like they are down to six in stock currently.

Yeah, crazy considering they had dropped it to $279 recently from $299.
