They're somewhat similar, but this game is more relaxed driving with slowmo crashes and "points" when you find certain posters to break or new barricaded roads to break through. Has real music in it, take down races to get that new car and it'll be half online to compare fastest times going down a street. You have a turbo boost gauge and trick spot areas everywhere too. You have to complete certain mini-races or sidequests (usually "do this in under X time") to up your driver rank. the races/mini races include winning against a bunch of other cars, or "taking down" the other cars while still making it to the finish.

We got it for the PS3 a long time ago, and literally a week before it was announced for switch we got it on sale for the PS4 ($10?) For our two boys. Our switch is MUCH more portable as we have two and don't use the PS4 so... I'm showing this to my husband and he can decide! Our youngest (almost 5) really likes the game.
This is probably the best open world arcade racer ever made and should be in everyone's library. The DLC add ons are great, the map is varied with lots of fun stuff to do, online is relaxed and an absolute hoot. The success of this title pushed all arcade racers to more of a goofy, open world format that didn't take themselves seriously. And, because these aren't real cars, the crash physics and animations are phenomenal and satisfying (albeit not as good as Takedown). Pick it up and add it to your library, it's an easy recommendation.

What do you guys think? We have Need for Speed and the kids love it. Is it worth having both? Or are they basically the same game from different publishers?

Can someone provide a link to the 10% off coupon references in the OP? I've been looking around SD for a few minutes and my wife doesn't see anything in her Circle app. Thank you in advance!!

This is not a racing game that you would want to play with a wheel.

Target Circle offer expires 4/17 but how long is the sale on just the game itself good for? Hoping for at least the same as the circle offer but I can't find any sale info anywhere.

Seems to only work on select switch games. Was hoping to use it on pokemon snap preorder but didn't work.

Yeah. Thought about getting it. Then looked around. Probably get it for PC. It's $7.69 on cdkeys. Nintendo tax sucks.
