How's this going to play most games? Dont need max specs, but if I want to hook to a gaming monitor and play 98% of games on decent quality, is this my guy?

How is the screen? I played around with it in store and seemed like a nice laptop except for the screen. Gamers probably don't care. But for watching media content, I think I wouldn't be happy. Though a crazy bright Costco store isn't the same as in home.

It's average, 1080p is not enough for 17in screen imo. But it's pretty bright and smooth because of the 144 refresh rate. I don't game I use it for stock charts, which is more than enough.

Here is something I posted about the other Costco laptop with a 1650. The Ti model would be <5% faster.

A 1660Ti should be ~50% faster than a 1650. Or for ~70% boost you could get the GE75 Raider with 2060 that's on sale for $1160 now. A lot more money, but it has a lot of other upgrades as well.

A 1650 is fine playing most games, but it does struggle with some newer ones. A brief example of benchmarks on 1080p High settings:
