I actually double checked to see what version it is because sometimes the sellers don't actually know. I asked whether the IMEI started with 35 or 99. If it starts with 35 it's a Verizon version, if it starts with 99 it's the Google version.

They responded, "the stock we have start with 35"

So that means these are the Verizon version with a locked bootloader. For those that may not know, they can still be used on any carrier just fine. They are carrier unlocked. The bootloader however is locked. This means that you cannot install a custom ROM to keep updated when Google stops updating Android on this phone. Many people won't care about that, but people that are tech savvy and want to extend the useful life of this phone by installing newer versions of Android won't be able to.

Great for putting on CalyxOS.org to have a privacy minded phone.

EDIT: was informed later in thread that custom ROMs like CalyxOS cant be installed on Verizon variants of this phone (havent verified this but thanks to the user that called this out)

You probably had a defective phone. Yes, the memory's inadequate so apps will often have to relaunch when you multitask. Yes, the battery is bad so you need to either carry a power bank or a charger. But other than that, the phone's great.

I use this phone every day (128gb), and love it. Fast enough, amazing camera, great updates. Didn't feel the need to upgrade to 4 or 5. I would snag one for this price if mine wasn't working. Battery life could be better but not terrible.

I have a 3a and have had none of these issues at all. Have you done a system reset?
3a is a different phone all the way around so you can't really compare the two.

I bought this phone almost two years ago. Still very snappy and I'm very happy with it. Battery life has lessened, but I still almost always get a full day from a charge.

I've had this phone since it was released. This is a great price, but it's an awful phone. The RAM management is terrible. Freezes up ALL the time. Apps constantly close when you open anything else. "But the camera is great!" you might say. Yeah, but good luck getting a shot when you need it or taking more than one without it freezing up. Seriously, my original pixel still works better than my pixel 3.
I've had this phone since it came out and have never had it freeze once and have never had any issues. Maybe you just got a bad one. FWIW battery on mine is still great especially for a sub $200 phone.

Thinking about selling my unopened 2020 Moto Power and getting this Pixel 3 but it sounds like battery life is on the weak side. Speakerphone call quality, battery life and reception are what I look at first. Watcha think?
You def will be taking a huge hit on battery life as isn't the Moto Power one of the best? The 3 is mid-pack and once you hit two-years, its extremely noticeable. Speakerphone and reception has been no issue with me, but reception depends on your service provider as well. As much as l love my 3xl, if battery life is one of your biggest factors; you likely want to look elsewhere.

Will this work for sprint? Thanks
It's fully unlocked, so yes.

For those who are wondering if it's the Verizon variant, I contacted the seller and I was told that these phones came from Google.

My wife and I have had our Pixel 3 phones since February 2019 and have not had the same issues you're experiencing. I've been the type of person to switch phones every year too and this is one phone that I haven't felt the urge to get anything else.
Similar experience here with Pixel 3 and 3XL. Battery is still fine and I haven't noticed any issues with multiple apps running. Camera is absolutely great. I'll hold onto mine until I see a killer deal (under $250) on a newer model.

I'd say most phones have battery issues after 2 or 3 years. I'd rather buy a $200 phone than "maybe" getting an extra year out of an $800 phone.

Maybe, my experience with pixel 3a warranty purchased from best buy wasn't great. It seems if you don't purchase directly from Google warranty is very hit or miss.

If your ebay receipt doesn't have the phone IMEI number on it they will push back..

The nicest thing about the 3 is that it has wireless charging.

Which means it fixes the problem of being too lazy to plug it in all the dang time.

I think you looked to far into my "after 2 year mark". The OP said he has Moto Power currently, which is one of the top phones when it comes to battery. The Pixel 3 is far from that, even when new. With their biggest factor of a phone being battery power for OP, The pixel 3, especially it being the non-XL with a smaller battery, is likely not a good route to go for them.

How many SOT hours is average on the Pixel 3?

Quick google search and first result came back with 5 hours. Compare that to the Moto Power which is 11-14 according to first search result, and its easy to see that pixel 3 is not good for someone who favors battery life.
