Note #1:
These switches do not have/ need a neutral wire. This makes wiring easier and more complicated at the same time. When a smart switch lacks a neutral that means it's always on, but at "off" the voltage regulation/ PWM is reduced to a level below what is required to turn on the light bulb(s) therefore they appear off. You might like to know that its still "on" when you go to change out a bulb and the fixture is still hot--really just an FYI.

Note #2:
This kit is not meant for track/ DC/ magnetic ballast lighting. Only listed dimmable LED's, halogens, incandescents, and CFL's.

Note #3:
These dimmer switches cannot control a ceiling fan. You need model number PD-FSQN-xx for that which is, naturally, sold separately.

Note #4:
Similar to Philips, Lutron uses a bridge to keep all of this crap off of your home wifi network. It doesn't need to be hogging resources (TP-Link) and "sniffing/ checking in" (wink wink, China) like other brands do. If you plan to convert multiple switches to smart switches, it makes the most sense to use a bridged system as an intermediary. Bonus points if you put your bridge(s) on their own subnet isolated from your laptops, tablets, and phones. Your other wifi devices will thank you.

Note #5:
Whether you buy at Amazon or pricematch at Best Buy or Lowes, pay with your Visa Signature/ Platinum or Amex to get the +1 year warranty for consumer electronics. Discover ended this benefit a few years ago and I don't know if Paypal ever offered it. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than myself could elaborate in the comments if any other common credit cards still offer the extended warranty benefit. Thanks in advance.

FYI: There is a mechanical "hidden" switch at the very bottom of the controls that allow one to open by pulling it outwards using a nail/finger. Then you can safely change out any bulbs with zero voltage in the light fixtures. But of course it's safest to shut off the power via the circuit breaker at the electrical panel.
For clarity, Caseta does NOT use zwave. Lutron uses their "Clear Connect" protocol which operates ~430MHz whereas zwave is ~900MHz

Sure. That's what I was going to do. I bought the non-dimming kit for my hallway lights last fall and it came with a bridge so I don't need the one I'm about to get either.

No reason why you couldn't. There was a deal back in October where you could get these same sets for $99 ($125 plus some $25 discount). I bought 3 sets with the intent of reselling two of the bridges which I've been lazy about actually getting around to doing. From looking at eBay, I think a million other people have the same idea.

Just note that this hub will not work with Hubitat, you need Lutron Caseta L-BDGPRO2-WH SmartBridge Pro.

How do these compare to the TP-Link smart switches which go on sale regularly and seem to be less expensive? Is there a reason to pay extra for these?

This isn't much a deal considering you can get the single set (P-BDG-PKG1W) for $68.

Beat in the game. Reliability, no dependence on your WiFi network. These communicate over zwave.

Also can add multiple homes/businesses

I believe limit is 75 devices on the hub due to update in last year.

Caseta are the gold standard of switches. Nearly flawless in HomeKit and Alexa environments. I'm replacing all my older zwave switches with Caseta.

Of note: if you're in it for the switches and remotes only, eBay frequently has the combo for $40-50 each with free shipping. I tried to sell my hub last year and only managed to get $20 for it. May end up being cheaper via eBay.

I had TP-link and Wemo switches before, if you plan on expanding to more smart switches in your home, this is the way to go! The TP-link and Wemo each connect to your Wifi as a separate device. If you upgrade router or something happens, you have to go around and re-link each switch. That happened to me fairly often with the Wemo. Lutron much easier to setup, add additional and maintain in my opinion.

Only reason I don't endorse eBay route is warranty. I installed about 25-30 of these and did have issue with I think 2 of them. I wish I didn't order some from eBay for this very reason.
