I bought 2 of these last time they had sale at 59.00. I had them both unlocked for 6.00 via ebay.
If you look at the build number (in settings/software) you will see build number.
ex. S205DLUDU5BTE7 (My 5th digit from end was a 5) if bit number is 6,7,8 cost is higher to unlock.
However, I "think" you can 'downgrade' firmware to older version. (YMMV) I didnt have to with mine.

Yes, it comes locked to TracFone CDMA (Verizon) but it has other bands that support other GSM carriers according to the spec: https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_...0-9640.php

This eBay listing says you can use in 'all GSM networks' after unlock: https://www.ebay.com/itm/15377617...Swgitd4z9b. In the past, I've heard certain phone models that are CDMA and unlocked via eBay that they cannot be activated on other CDMA carriers and can only be activated on other GSM carriers.

So from the comments thus far, it looks like T-Mobile is a go but Cricket and Visible are no-go. Any other data points?

Has anyone had their phone successfully ship out? I ordered 2 (under different orders) a few days ago, have the tracking #, but according to FedEx, the items have not arrived for shipping. Had to open up support tickets with Tracfone to track down if either Tracfone has received the items or has FedEx .

Anyone else experience this?

What day did you order?. If on Friday, it may not show any movement till today.
I ordered 2 last friday and did not see info till monday night. Received them 2 days later. Unlocked via ebay (5.00 each) and using on at&t.

Yes, that glitch was fixed.... but there is a new one which totally screws you out of reward points. I lost thousands of points due to their system issue and my calls and tickets have done nothing to get them back.

BUT.... it seems you do get your referral points if you use the Tracfone mobile app instead of a web browser when entering the referral code.

There's a reddit thread with people posting their referral codes. Be sure to get a recent referral code (dated today if you can) and one that will get you the full 8000 points.

I considered it but non-removeable battery and no SD card were my dealbreakers. I'd also need to start getting USB-C chargers. That plus I didnt want to spend $100 on a phone.
