Very nice price. I have been using X1 Carbons for years and they are business workhorses. Nice find!

For those with the AMEX $100 Dell cash back, how is this compare to the

New XPS 13 Laptop i7-1185G7
16GB 4267MHz LPDDR4x Memory

- 3.5 mm Headphone/Microphone Combo Jack
- 2nd Thunderbolt™ 4 [(DisplayPort / power delivery) (4 lanes of PCI Express Gen 3)]
- MicroSD card reader
$1350 - $100 AMEX = $1250

Or

$1593 - $100 AMEX = $1493
with 13.4" OLED 3.5K (3456x2160) InfinityEdge Touch Anti-Reflective 400-Nit Display
Or downgrade to 13.4" FHD+ (1920 x 1200) InfinityEdge Non-Touch Anti-Glare 500-Nit Display
So $1233 - $100 AMEX = $1133

seconded. we use these xps at work and while I do love the minimal bezel and lightweight, they're flimsier and the keyboard and trackpad are just not as good. performance is fine but at this price point, I'm looking for damn-near-perfect

Idk, unless you would work under direct sunlight with a 400 nit 😏 14 inches laptop non touch display. Make sense? If you are an active person, will you walk around with this useless display?
With this price and this spec you should pick a 2in1 laptop. No need a highend i7 like this, i5/ i71165 is fine with no GPU.
Don't let they fool you guys. Buy what you need.

The problem is i5 and i7 has negligible performance difference in more than 1 mins. I7 turbo boost only sustain like 5s.

I can't justify an overpriced slow-GPU intel processor in 2020 or 2021. Everybody should be buying an 8-core Ryzen 4xxx or Ryzen 5xxx processor, for about half this money! An Ideapad Flex 5 or Ideapad Flex 7 is a much better deal in ANY configuration with AMD.

Seems like these statements can be say in most of Thinkpad X1/T , HP EliteBook, Dell Latitude, etc thread. So I guess certain people argument is don't buy business laptop because it is not worth the money for sturdier device that last longer. Also business laptop are typically made to travel (like in this case light weight), built for 40-work week (used for long period of time), security and IT management. So no one really need business laptop and need to pay extra for that. Should only pay extra for gaming machine or better CPU but less sturdy machine.

Or is there any recommendation for which line of sturdier higher quality 40-work week business laptop (in this case light weight portable) for lower price?

Just ignore those comments, I bet they are living with parents in the basement, who play games 20 hours 7 days a week.

People who buy a thinkpad know what they are buying. It's the build quality, keyboard, longevity and they're OK paying a little more. I own 2 thinkpads (T440 and a P52). They have been nothing but reliable since I got them. I owned An HP Spectre (top of the line) and it doesn't even come close.
