Got one line upgraded with Pixel 5 about 1 week ago and another today. Both for 299.99 before tax. Original Price is $699. Haven't seen any discounts so far anywhere. Once you upgrade, the phone will be locked for 2 years which is the contract period. I have been on At&t for 5 years and don't plan to move out of my family plan in the next two years. If you are in a similar boat, this is an awesome deal. FYI- Your monthly billing rates won't change after you buy the phone. You just pay $299 upfront and get the locked phone.

Here are the steps:

1. Call 611
2. Ask for loyalty department
3. Then ask them for Pixel 5 deal for 2 year contract.

Sometimes the deals are personalized for that particular account. Hence YMMV. We got it twice so I don't think its that uncommon. Good Luck!

This is my first deal post so apologies if I didn't follow posting rules/methodology.

P.S. I upgraded from LG V20 (loved the phone) and Pixel 5 is awesome. Snappy with great battery life and features

Nope not a good deal imo. A locked phone plus a 2 year contract is terrible for the price.

I am trying to understand what is wrong with a contract. Is there an advantage to changing phone provider? I have been with At&t for that last 6 years!

There's nothing wrong with a contract of you want to pay a premium for them to give you a piddling discount and guarantee you'll be penalized if your circumstances change and another provider is a better fit.

Go for it.

To each there own, but the landscape does shift a little. I am on my second year of ATT prepaided $300/year. Prior I was a cricket wireless custom all the way back to the AIO days!

I was with them for years as well. For me, switching to prepay is cheaper. I pay $300 + tax per year pre pay ATT.

Curious. What premium are you referring to? There are no additional charges, just a simple $400 discount. $400 is certainly not a piddling discount. If you need to break the contract and switch to another carrier, most carriers will be happy to absorb those charges (t-mobile for example). Either way this looks like a good deal to me.

$400 off for a 2 year contract has always been the standard. Most flagship phones used to be $600-$650 new so you'd get them for $200-$250 with a 2 year contract. This is a good deal but silly that you have to go through loyalty now to get it like this. Going through the trouble of calling loyalty would get you more before like my free galaxy s4 when it was released. I think even now if you push you maybe able to get more but this is still good enough. And being on ATT isn't a bad deal for everyone. We just recently switched to a new family plan with a teacher discount and it's only $23.50 per line....pretty competitive even with prepaid and MVNOs

Appreciate the post. Was looking for a deal for myself and wife with our Pixel 3 variants becoming old in the tooth... I'm on the Unlimited Elite plan and have only been a customer for 1 year. Customer rep was able to give me pricing of $199/phone for the 2 year contract rate. Interesting, while finalizing details he had to bump it back to $299/phone. With the discrepancy, he gave $100 worth of bill credits as a consolation. Good luck to everyone.

That sounds better for the pixel since it's usually discounted anyways. I've been going back and forth on it since my oneplus 6 is about 2.5 years old but still has pretty much the same specs as the pixel 5. I do want to keep the free Google photo uploads so that's why I've been leaning towards just doing it. Do you happen to know if they had the sage green color available via loyalty or did you get both black? It's not available online but thought they may have it in stores or over the phone orders. Also did you have to push for the lower $199 price or was that what you were offered?

We did get Black for both phones, so I don't know if they have Sage available unfortunately. They shipped from Irving, TX same day and are supposed to arrive today. I think the customer service rep just flat screwed up offering me the $199 to begin with. He said initially that he can give me $299/phone and said he was trying to "work some magic" came back and said I'm happy to offer you $199/phone. Then when we went to actually process the order said the system will only allow him to discount so much, hence the bill credit offered in exchange. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I think it's common to get additional compensation via bill credits if you ask and they don't have a deal good enough available. That's what I've gotten in the past and what a friend of mine recently got on some iphone 12s. I was just hoping that the 199 was now the offer for the pixel since getting additional off does require some back and forth sometimes and even multiple calls if a rep isn't willing to do it. I actually had a rep promise me so much credit once to get free phones that he couldn't do it all in one day and had to schedule to call me back another day to process the rest..and surprisingly he actually did call back himself...haha.
