Haha, I was a newbie many moons ago also but let me try and break it down Barney level:

-You have a "media" that you've been wanting to see/hear but its hella expensive.
-You search for said media with a search engine (online, some free but best ones you pay a fee for).
-search engine returns a bunch of file names that match your request but you need to download file, its not free to download so you need a "service" like usenet to download the file.
-You also need software to put in your server details and will download file.(software is free).

Depends on what you DL, doesn't it ?
I'd never grab anything with an .exe extension.

This happened recently, caused by an user error though, not a bug.

Premiumize was the real eye opener. Firestick plus Kodi plus Premiumize for ~$8/mo. As long as that continues to work, there is never a need for Netflix again.
