I have another brand of these and they actually work well for the intended purpose.

The answer is no. Think about when you change from face up to sideways, the phone will change its direction and sometimes it falls off

well, based on just 3 reviews total from last year.

1 bad review is due to the guy who tried to hang his 7 foot android tablet size on it.

Quote :
With just a 7' tablet from Android(small and light) and if I wasn't sitting near my bed, it could have seriously damaged my electronics by falling ontk the floor.
the other review is from bad shipping.

3rd review got 5 stars.

from my personal experience, great idea, but not really practical. i used it 2 times, and now its collecting dusts. too much work. i think its $5 everyday price instore.

I bought a gooseneck phone holder with a clamp...I clamp it to my side table and swing over the gooseneck with phone in the perfect position...I love it...make sure you get a long enough one so that it hit right over your face so you can lay flat on your back and watch.
