looks real ghetto. It's like a big sock for a pre filter. There's no structure as its just the filter. As others pointed out. Not HEPA

FYI - This is the older version which is why they put it on sale through the Treasure Truck. If this works for you that's fine, but newer model has some better features and larger capacity.

And recommended to replace every 6 months so $40/year.

Not true HEPA but their own technology called HEPAsilent, a great performer for small spaces. Blue Air is one of the best in the business for a reason, unfortunately you pay up the nose for it. So if your a money is no cost to breath fresh air, and don't mind the expensive filters just get it.

Ordered one this morning. Rarely does Blueair get discounted this heavily. It's said to be the best - https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/...-1.5900782

As mentioned, covers 160 sq/ft and is the old model, but still a good deal for a bedroom and occasional usage.

For me, it's preparation for upcoming wildfire season and having guests over once again.

Here's why you don't buy any blue air air purifier. The ionization occurs after particle contact with the filter medium. The charges particles then cling to surfaces within your homes. Reducing airborne particulate but just making your home that much "dirtier".

Their older models(classic series) used to ionize the air prior to contact with the filter medium. Not sure why that changed.

They tested the strongest(& largest) blue air purifier with the weakest competitor air purifiers LOL. Compare the square footage rating on all the other air purifiers. All those competitors make larger variants.
