Yes this is a good deal. Pretty much the best you can get before jumping to OLED which costs way more.
Terrible advice.

How big is the family room? How far will he be sitting?

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

As enticing as the lower prices are on Samsung tvs and I must admit, they have nice tvs, my gawd, it's been a battle trying to get them to honor the 1 year manufacturer's warranty on our tv that crapped out after only 8 months. They sent a tech over who confirmed it was a faulty panel and told us he would order the part and get back to us. Never heard back just to learn Samsung cancelled our ticket service request. After multiple calls, I was issued another ticket service request, which was then again cancelled. Fast forward, I'm on my 4th ticket service request when Samsung finally agreed to do equal replacement. 2 weeks of following up with Samsung, was told my 65RU8000 is no longer in production and they can't issue me a replacement, offered to issue me a new ticket to repair. I refused after the hassle they put me through with the other service requests. Was forwarded to case management team and finally, they agreed to issue me a refund and I will be responsible to dispose of the tv, which I agreed to. A week later, i got a call from a logistic team to schedule to pick up my broken tv. Oh boy...fine, I agreed and a week later, the tv was picked up. Now, I'm still chasing Samsung for my refund. I text the case management team daily to remind them Samsung already has my direct deposit info and it shouldn't take this long for a refund. So sorry for the long post...I'm obviously traumatized by my experience of dealing with Samsung for over 3 months now.

I have the 65" model and my eARC will randomly drop to my Samsung sound bar. I doubt it is related to the apps because whenever I notice the sound drop, I go home and see if it makes the tile change tone and it doesn't.

We have had this TV for about 6 months now. It has been great! Viewing angles are good and it get plenty bright enough for daytime viewing.

I did buy a center stand for it as the feet were too wide for our console.

The only issues we have had is WiFi disconnecting but that has been fixed in a firmware update and I turned off the WiFi sleep function.

Love this TV and I highly recommend it.

Here is the stand I bought. Works perfect with the 75.

Anyone know how good the viewing angles are on this TV?
Not as good as the X950H, also reflectivity is worse than X950H. Is that worth the price difference, for me it's not.

ordered this TV for $1710 after tax and 82 Samsung Q70T QN82Q70TAFXZA from amazon for 2188-600=1588. will do research and cancel one. my primary use would be for kids to watch TV, or play NS. i guess there is not much difference between both.

How does this fair with a ps5? 4K at 120? Is vrr a big deal and does it matter with this tv? Looking to future proof, but can wait for the new line if necessary.
There's been an ongoing problem with this tv and 4k120hz support. I even think there's a petition going around demanding a fix. I believe there's a blurriness issue when 4k120hz is enabled. Sony did release a patch claiming it fixed the issue but all they did was add some sharpness filter to try and clean up the blurriness. Just go in the Sony forums and search this topic and you'll find hundreds of posts if not more about it

Has anyone had any experience with Allstate vs GSP? Torn between getting from Sams vs BB.
Idk what gsp is but I do have experience with Allstate. Bought an lg tv 4 years ago the nic card died on it. Call Allstate they said they would order the parts and send a tech to install. A week later the emailed me that the could not source parts and just refunded my the original purchase price of the tv in the form of a check. I actually used the money to buy the 85 in version of this Sony and they let me keep my lg. I ended up throwing a roku on it so still works

I get so confused with the differences with different 4 K TVs ?! Some are 3 X as much as the same size budget brand.
Depends on what ur budget is. I've had Vizio m and p series, tcl 6 series and this Sony. This TV is by far the better TV out of them all. The tcl is a good budget buy. The Vizio brand is in the mix in there depending on the model.

No it's not terrible advice. It's a very nice TV and close to an oled TV but yet not and no risk of burn in. Crawl down from ur high horse and give a little insight for the less informed instead of wasting ur time telling ppl to research themselves. Yes they can but they are asking general questions.

Had the same exact issue with the 65inch and had to return it to Costco.
