Printing money Was done during the Weimar Republic and that did not turn out well for Germany or the world, but they Shure meant it to help... Good intentions and happy feelings do not equate to truth, prosperity or a betterment of the human condition. So many are are sold on a idea that it was a good idea, but the wrong people were in charge.. Tell that to Venezuela. Chavez was the last President "democratically" elected.. Now look .. The world has a lush of history of how the current mentality has led to misery every where it has been tried.

History is not being taught and that is on purpose. A country of apathetic under educated citizens are easily led with little resistance. The meaning of words is being redefined to poll tested slogans. The political class is never held responsible for actions and inaccuracies (to be kind).. It is a very tuff to have a rational debate with shifting meanings of words. I thought when the birds go south and come back next year that was Migration.. Now I have no idea what it means when they come and never go back. Just another poll tested phrase for the script readers to pass on to the now un educated.

Tempted to buy a roll for the shelf in the garage tough, because when you print money and rescores are finite, the rescores increase value inversely to the money printed.
FWIW, I've been in the building/architecture industry for decades and seen these prices go up and down with the market demand. The prices are high right now, but it's because the commercial demand for product and choke points in the supply chain (2018 tariff-related material shortages which have depleted domestic warehouse stock, Covid-related reductions in production capacity and shipping delays).

As for history - I can assure you they are still teaching it. Most people have simply forgotten (or never bothered to learn) what they were taught. And why would they - you get paid 100x as much for being pretty and popular as you do for being smart.
Why would you buy so many short rolls? You will wind up with much more waste at the end Cost you more per foot of actual used wire.

Same price on Walmart and CCC shows 27 as average price and that it was 20.52 last month on amazon. Interesting that it's over $50 at lowes/home depot

With copper prices climbing, any yesterday deals will become increasingly more difficult to find.

Per foot, shorter rolls are always more expensive.

Currently at HD and Lowes 250' are $122 (was $105 last week and about $65 6months ago), so 50'@$27 are still more unless you need shorter lengths. Not sure who's responsible for this madness but if it's due inflation then those "relief" checks soon will barely cover few 2x4s and plywood sheets if that. On that note I wonder how much "wood" sheds will skyrocket in price as well.

If you buy in larger sizes....you can do better than buying many of a small size...

50ft or 100ft? The picture shows it as 100ft. Is it 2pc x 50ft each?

100% here. I paid $70.66/250' of 12/2 on 2/7/21. I cannot believe what prices have done. With so many homes under construction, these high prices are likely to hang around for a minute.

They're saying that lumber prices won't drop until the fall once the summer home building season is over.

Lots of building and construction supply prices are jumping. I was watching lumber and plywood prices go up weekly over the last quarter while planning my project.
