I have a cx, and had 2 OLEDs beforehand. Not once did I ever get burn in. Don't watch cable news (seriously that shit will burn out your brain, not just burn in your panel with the ticker). I game a lot and never had any interface elements burn in, either in hdr or non hdr gaming - the automatic screen shifting tech seems pretty effective. Picture quality is amazing. If you've got the money saved up these are the best TVs out there.

It sounds like you upgrade your tvs pretty frequently so I would assume you wouldn't experience a burn in. I have a b7 which has had burn in since last year. I understand it hasn't happened to you, but it's irresponsible to think that OLED's rarely get burn in if you haven't experienced one yourself. If you keep your TV long enough I'm sure you will experience it yourself.

Or perhaps it's irresponsible to project your experiences onto a category of product as a general rule? Perhaps you were doing something with the OLED that caused burn in that many other have not?

Yes, I upgrade the OLED about every 2.5 years. That's more than enough time to get burn in. The point of my comment was there are certain things you can do, like avoiding cable news and it's static banners, to avoid burn in. Also I specifically referenced to screen shifting tech, which isn't available in b7's.

Also, my comment is anecdotal. I'm relaying my experience. It happens to be similar to the experience of many other comments I've read on these threads in the past, but as you say burn in does happen so it not a universal expectation that you can avoid it. OLEDs are sensitive tech, they give amazing picture but require users to be cognizant of what they are doing with it.

While yes larger is better but the Sony X900H has many issues. Like never getting promised features since it first released, not as many HDMI 2.1 ports, and other things. I was almost going to get it but decided on a smaller LG CX since the HDMI 2.1 port selection was lacking for me on the Sony. I have both next gen consoles and having one of the 2.1 ports used for ARC was a no go for me.

This is true for those that value quantity over quality. For others not so much.

Had a Panasonic LCD projector setup with 106" screen that we loved before getting the 2016 65" E6 - the projector was boxed up and never reopened within a month of getting the TV as no one in the family wanted to compromise on quality. There was hardly any HDR content back then.

I think you should consider those scores on a logarithmic scale, because the 900 looks like an absolutely mediocre TV next to an OLED. My friend bought the 85" X900 and every time we watch it compared to our 77" C9, it looks so poor in comparison. Especially in dark scenes.

I have a ef9500 from 2015 with thousands of hours on it. Zero burn in.

And for those wondering i gamed a ton even with hdr games with static logos and nothing.

What problems are you talking about? I have an CX and an Xbox Series X and never had any problems with it. 120Hz and VRR worked from the beginning.
