Depends on what type of pool you have. In the description it says it's good for flat bottom pools only and ideal for above ground and also not good for algae cleanup, so basically good for leaves and some other debris. I've been looking for one of these for a while now, but I have an inground pool that goes from 3 ft down to 10 ft on a pretty steep decline. Guess I will keep looking...

Thanks! I am also looking into this because my Polaris needs repair + tube replacement, man those tube are expensive ... I am probably looking at ~$150 parts to replace so I figured I should probably get a robo one ...

Looks like there are some wall climb capable ones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R8W9...=emc_b_5_t

Is there anything like this that would be recommended for an inground pool and for just cleaning up algae and small debris. I have a screened pool, so virtually no large debris. I like the idea of a cordless, robot cleaner in the style of a roomba.

They make ones like that, however they are usually $600 or more. The cordless robot ones that clean algae never seem to drop very much in price.

Reviews posted by #1 reviewer, Top 10, Top 50, multiple Top 100's and 500's. All 5 star. I understand this is what it takes nowadays for a product to get noticed and given credibility on Amazon, but can I really trust reviews from these people?

I went from a Polaris vacuum to a Dolphin and am very happy. It's reguarly pretty full of silt and sand, and virtually every solid debris gets sucked up. The only thing is doesn't do well on is curved steps. I think it does a better job on dirt/sand which is my biggest issue due to location.

I have this pool vacuum and like it. It's legit. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it's fine for pools with flat bottoms.

I'm thinking this is OK if you dont have plumbed vacuum line or use a temporary pool. But most solid pool cleaners have the filter of dirt at the end of the hose and will not weigh the unit down and slow it. So this is likely great for temporary pools.

They also make ones that are a little more self-contained than a suction-side one. They only have a thin power cord (but no hose) and are beefier in terms of power than one of these. They will clean the walls, but again, not for $200.

Read the 1 star reviews. This appears to be junk.
I'm sure this doesn't touch any normal $1k vacuums.

Agreed. That battery size is comically small.
