Vitamix has never and will never make a glass container because it'd be a safety hazard due to how high powered they are. There is a stainless steel container option though if you don't want to use the plastic ones

Good find. If my 10+ year-old 5200 wasn't still going strong I'd be all over this, especially for the dishwasher safe containers.

They need to go back to making glass containers I had a couple blenders that had glass instead of a plastic container to blend in

I just bought the e320 in store the other day. How is this one better?

I tried researching the differences in the models but just went with what Costco had in store. I don't think I would need the dry grains container but who knows if the wife would use it.

Is there a benefit for me to get this one over the e320, either now or over the long run?

For anyone considering a Vitamix and wondering why anyone would pay so much for a blender, once you own and use one, you will understand. I've not had any issues with the jar on ours. My wife had one she received as a gift when we met, a Vitamix 6300 that is now 9 years old. It's still going strong, and I couldn't not have one now. For me, the programmed cycles, specifically hot soup and smoothie are must haves and I wouldn't want a system without them. The Dry Grains attachment is interesting, but I personally wouldn't give up the programmed settings for it.

I'd probably spring the extra cash for an A3500 if I were to get a replacement today.

I'm still trying to think if I want to keep it. I don't want steaming plastic if I make soups. Really want a glass container. It's why I've held off all these years. Also they're loud as hell. They need come with that noise reduction cover
here you go. starbucks uses these vitamix blenders. nice and quiet

Very nice, I'd jump all over this if ours wasn't still going strong ... I've had it forever and it works like the day I got it. As others said... yes it's a high price for "a blender" but once you have one you know it's not "just a blender", it's a necessity in every kitchen. Probably the most used device in the kitchen

Seems like a good deal if you need vitamix, but a better deal would be the blendtec for over $100 less.

Agreed. I hate how the plastic containers get cloudy from use. They turn out so ugly looking
They cannot. Glass containers cant handle the speed and vibration and they crack under stress. Where as plastic one dont. A cheap black and decker blender will come with glass container because the speed is not high enough to crack it.

many would argue that they are not comparable in terms of quality. Looking at the used market where there many used ones that are only 2-3 year old would further corroborate my claim.

Are these big blenders mostly for "real chefs"? Once I got my Ninja personal blender, I have never wanted to go back to full size again.

I believe Vitamix are an overkill for most people. They are great and probably last forever, but the blender market has seen some good competition lately. I have one, I enjoy it, but I wonder if spending hundreds was really necessary.

haha i'll let you know. I have been using my parents Ninja for a month or so, and noticed that some fresh fruits dont blend as nicely as I expected. I have read that vitamix is really great at pulverizing even fresh fruits in a smoothie, so thats going to be the ulitimate test for me.
