Overpriced/overrated for what it is. I know ppl will down vote me a lot, but that is my experience. My work proved is with these, they are not terribly bad, but I have so many small frustrations with it, that I rather use something else. I.e. doesn't work well with certain Dell monitors, had to replace few monitors; had random flickering, disconnects, black screens.. company VPN didn't play nice on it (although I suspect that is more our IT fault than the laptop) etc. Overall for the price they are asking on these, they should've been nearly damn perfect. And that is not my experience.
In my personal life have Microsoft and I'm much happier with it. About the same price category and do far hasn't failed me. Yes, little heavier and battery it's not quite good, but plenty for my needs.
If I had a choice for work is get another Surface or Dell XPS... Just my 2 cents Smilie

I am going to leave here a post from another X1 Carbon deal to explain why. I have used DELL XPS 13, Acer, HP Spectre and in term of durability, Lenovo beats them all IMO. Of course it's my own opinion and you can disagree.

My fairly new, specc'ed out X1C just failed after 1.5 years, right outside the warranty. Motherboard failure. Huge bummer since I paid extra because I thought they were "more durable" and I liked the keyboard and spill resistance.

Going to steer clear of Lenovo Thinkpads going forward and just invest in a longer warranty. That's my experience, n=1

Your post is so all over the place, no wonder why the thinkpad didn't work for you. Surface for business use? Come on.

Unless you purchased with a debit card, your credit card more than likely gives you an extra year warranty so you should file a claim through them.
