The Alcatraz game starts out pretty cool (aside from the vague instructions), but gets a bit frustrating later on. Worth it for the price. You'll only play it once.
Though a great price, the reviews on Amazon for Alcatraz from people that have played several "Escape the Room" games are pretty harsh. All seem to say the same- great idea, terrible execution, especially the later puzzles.
It's not worth the time. Think of it like a free game or $1 indie game that simply has terrible reviews. Would you get it and play just because it's a "deal"?
Always upvote board game deals. Bought Alcatraz and Joker. Thanks!
Feel free to check out BGG if you're interested in quality vs quantity. Good games can still be cheap, but cheap games are not necessarily good (at any price).

Understood. Already there - I think I already own the top 40-50 rated BGs. Good note tho! You never know where people stand. Power grid and pandemic are family favorites but I personally have a soft spot for heroquest lol.

The newer Area 51 game though was pretty bad.
