Stumbled upon a few Hue lightstrips on the clearance end cap at HD. Price tag reflected $60.06, but looking closer one had a $20.03 price, to which all 4 of them rang up for that price upon checkout. Super steal if you're into the money pit of a hobby of smart lighting/smart home accessories. May be worth a trip to your local HD, didn't show up on brickseek, but extreme YMMV in store. As reference, I'm in west Ft. Worth TX.

BS says 8 in stock for clearance but the website says none in store. If I recall HD does that once an item is marked clearance, right?

This is just my opinion. But the fact that the price hasn't come down on any of the Hue products is my reason that I'm not buying any more. The regular price is just ridiculous to be honest. It was a novelty many years ago, but now it's really not warranted anymore.

Well it rang up full price even though BS marked it "clearance" but I did manage to grab 2 of the indoor strips for $20 each instead so it wasn't a complete waste

I wonder this too. Initially there were the bulbs, a few quirky lamps, and the strips.

Now if you go on the Philips site, there are pages and pages of extremely specific models. Many are built in lights and outdoor stuff and hanging pendants. And they are INSANE prices. You figure you can get a basic white Hue bulb with all the technology in it for $10, some of the stuff they sell is hundreds of dollars.

I have my basic Hue system in my house - 4 color bulbs, 3 white adjustable ones, and a couple of the quirky original lamps they had (HD had a sale once at like 50% off so I got the 3 remaining ones). I think they are Iris? They look like a ball with a flat side.

Anyway, with slickdeals and waiting for on sale stuff, I spent $200-300 I guesstimate over time on it. It keeps my house lit up.

I agree with you for the most part. It's crazy that prices haven't come down, as this tech has definitely become much cheaper to produce over time. But, I first got a bunch of Hue stuff on clearance at Bed Bath & Beyond, and then I was sucked into the ecosystem. And Hue just works. I had a different set of smart bulbs before hue, and they were a massive pain in the ass. Most of the bulbs in my house are hue bulbs now and I while I spent a lot on them, I love them. I don't know of any other brand of smart bulb that works as well.

Yeah, I bought a few light strips a few years ago for the kids rooms and now only buy the bulbs or strips when they're on clearance or a decent sale (like the Costco Hue Play 3pack). I did have an offer at Best Buy and snagged the Sync box, using the Hue play bars around the TV and the 3 light strips around the media center (top, sides). It works really well and now I can't imagine having to buy the 75" gradient strip that is OOS everywhere. Was hoping to use the outdoor strips in my plant bed but no luck...

I can't believe you got the Costco play deal, it looks like 90% of those orders were cancelled. I ordered the max quantity about an hour after the deal went up, 2 weeks later, cancelled Frown. Super jealous, as those were great at ~$30 per unit.
