Just got an email for $100 off $500 or more from Costco email. I was bummed I didn't get the $50. Check your emails!

For Costco members that did not get the code this might be why.

You probably need to be registered to to receive exclusive promotions and member benefits from Costco via email.
  1. press on the "Sign in / Register" link on the homepage.
  2. once logged in to "My Account" navigate to "My Preferences"
  3. check the box that reads: "I want to receive exclusive promotions and member benefits from Costco via email." and save preferences.

Not sure if this will work but I am trying it since I was not registered for their emails and didn't get the code yet.

Edit: Might be true for some, but I was enrolled in this already and I didn't get either of the promotions.

Sorry if somewhere it was mentioned already and I've missed it. How exactly this $100 should apply? They gave me $100 off credit backwards on the $750 total (with tax) order. But it was straight subtraction: $750(includes tax) - $100 = $650. I believe it should be done before tax applied like this: $680(item cost) - $100= $580(total before tax) and then tax should be taken based on $580 total. Correct me if I am wrong, please. Thank you.

It should reduce your tax liability if it was used in the transaction.

You are extremely lucky that they applied the coupon retroactively which they explicitly said they won't... honestly I wouldn't push a good company on the tax fraction here.

Well, it is not about any "company" being good or bad.

I was lucky to learn about that whole deal here by monitoring slickdeals site. I was not lucky, however, at all when they agreed to apply this particular offer to my order.

It took some time and lengthy argumentation with them when they finally agreed to apply $100 credit. More: it was not for the previously placed order. They agree to my arguments and granted me this credit if I WILL make the online order totaling $500 or more and get back to them with the case # referencing our conversation AFTER that FUTURE order gets shipped. So, it was kind of a double retroactive solution.

Their main argument was that this deal is already expired. They agreed on my objection on this matter after they were not able to give me any valid answers on two simple questions: 1. How a member should know about expiration on a deal if a member never even got the knowledge that such deal exists in a first place? 2. How am I different from a member who gets it?

They say it was randomly sent. Well, here is the thing: If you are a member of a club with a membership for a fee they cannot discriminate any member with the such offers without prior description of rules and conditions and their grounds for possible discrimination (if any) of a such intent sent to every member registered to receive notifications by any means. Example (at least, something like it): "Starting in April we will start to email our members $100 off (whatever description) randomly. If you will not get this offer in April continue to monitor your e-mail. By the end of this year every member will get it." OR: "only members who met some conditions (described) will get it."

Hope you understand the idea.

Check their memorial day sale ..their PM is valid only 30 days from the date of purchase..good luck and hope this helps you to save a bit more

They will refund you the amount you paid in the transaction, not the current price of the item.

If you had a single item in the order that you use the $100 coupon, then you'll receive exactly what you paid (i.e., item price - $100 + tax). If you had multiple items in that order, the coupon will be prorated to each item and when you return them, the prorated coupon amount will be deducted from that item.
